Two Jewels of the Western Cape: Cape Town and Stellenbosch
😃Two Jewels of Western Cape: Cape Town and Stellenbosch
Take the journey with us, see and feel the totally different atmosphere between these two jewels in the crown of the Western Cape and South Africa. One a bustling modern city of skyscrapers, the other maintaining a 'dignified' country atmosphere with its ancient oaks and Cape Dutch architecture.
A short 50 km separate Cape Town and Stellenbosch. The first vines planted in Southern Africa were in area of Cape Town. The City grew rapidly from humble beginnings to a vibrant cosmopolitan centre with a deep sea harbour, vast suburbs like the Cape Flats, an extensive railway network and home to over 4 Million people today.
Stellenbosch, founded 27 years later [1685], quickly became important, with plenty of water and fertile soil resulting in a great production of wine, surpassing Cape Town’s Constantia by far. Today, it has a large university that dominates the 170 000 inhabitants, and has attracted a strong financial institution presence.
Cradle of Human Culture Pt2

Added to that are interesting Birding Sites and the sheer beauty of nature and its abundance. Of course there are other delicious experiences like the Craft Beer or Wine tasting, and it goes without saying the delicious food of the West Coast restaurants.
