2020 International Student Tuition and Other Fees

Immigration Opportunities in the NT

The new Northern Territory Designated Area Migration Agreement (NT DAMA) lets the Northern Territory (NT) employers sponsor skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers for positions they are unable to fill with local workers. This program offers pathways to permanent residency for NT DAMA visa holders (including transitional arrangements for existing visa holders)

"If you are already in Australia, you can apply for permanent residency after six months of living in the Northern Territory and working full time in a nominated or closely related skilled occupation. The NT also has an agreement with the federal government that allows employers to sponsor workers with some concessions including limited English language requirements."

PCBT is officially re-registered as an RTO until November 2025.

Thanks to all who have made PCBT what it is today. This is all because of the hard work of admins, admissions, trainers, and students for making the effort to learn and grow to ensure we provide the training and assessment we have to provide always raising standards. Thanks to ownership of college for supporting PCBT's team members in a range of initiatives to improve and invest in the college.

This is only the beginning, we will be working hard for the next few months to make 2019 PCBT 's best year yet!

INTRODUCING CULTURE TO REGIONAL AUSTRALIA
Introducing culture to regional Australia
Australia is a multicultural country, however majority of the multicultural aspects of Australia remain within and surrounding the cities and coastal areas. In the regional areas of Australia you are hard pressed to find cultural events, shops, bilingual speakers and a diverse variety of authentic cuisines. Majority of Australian regional towns have smaller populations, are more widespread and the local industries are agricultural and mining based.

Stawell and Heywood in Victoria are just a couple of these regional towns in Australia, where cultural opportunities are hard to come by, making it difficult for language teachers to inspire their students. Luckily some very dedicated teachers in these areas are willing to go the extra mile to ensure their students have access to the cultural events and cuisines that those in the cities have. These teachers are travelling 3 or more hours to Melbourne with their students in order to eat a Chinese meal or attend Indonesian events. This dedication is needed in regional Australia and will hopefully continue to grow throughout regional Australia.

A SUMMARY OF THE CHANGES COMMENCED 1ST JULY 2017

July 1st saw a series of changes to multiple visas, below is a summarized list of all the changes for each visa affected.
457:

The Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) and Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) have been created, and are shown in a combined list on the DIBP website. The link to the combined list of occupations on the DIBP website can also be found at the bottom of this newsletter, for ease of reference. The combined list has had 36 new occupations added, 12 occupations removed, occupations transferred between lists and some caveat revisions.

187:
All Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) applicants must now score a 6 or above in each English component of the IELTS. All Direct Entry applicants must complete a skills assessment (no more exemptions), and nominations must include information about the identity of the nominee. Direct Entry applicants after July 1st must be younger than 45 years of age and TRT and Direct Entry nominations must now provide evidence of a genuine need for the applicant to fill the nominated position.

NZ pathways:
The 189 New Zealand special category visa stream has been introduced as of July 1st, however applications for this stream can only be made online. There have also been changes to the eligible New Zealand citizen and New Zealand family relationship visa to better align with Australian social security law.
Points test skilled visas (189,190,489):
All applicants must be younger than 45 years of age, and 189, 489 and 485 visa applicants must be nominated for an occupation from the MLTSSL, while 190 and 489 visa applicants can be nominated for an occupation from the MLTSSL and some occupations on the STSOL.

600:
Indian passport holders can now lodge Visitor visa applications online and Chinese, Indian and United Arab Emirates citizens will now be able to apply online for the priority consideration service available for Visitor visa applications.

602:
Applicants for the Medical Treatment visa who are in Australia but do not hold a substantive visa must provide additional documentation regarding their proposed medical treatment.

Unlogisch und unnötig

Im Meeresgebiet um den Hafen gibt es Delfine und Seekühe. Außerdem ist es der Lebensraum von Meeresschildkröten und Riesenmantas. Auf ihren Wanderwegen durch die Ozeane kreuzen auch Buckelwale die Region.

Australien will seinen Kohleexport steigern und bringt dafür die geschützten Korallenriffe in Gefahr. Rund 1,1 Millionen Kubikmeter Meeresboden in unmittelbarer Nähe sollen abgebaggert werden.
