In order to be able to meet the needs of product developers and designers at even shorter notice, twe have now developed a practical modular system that greatly simplifies the configuration of standard disc couplings and significantly shortens delivery times. European champion in our own ranks - our Head of IT wins gold at the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation (WDFPF) European Bench Press Championships. 🥇

In addition to the European Championship title, Kenan Abel celebrated his 8th company anniversary this year. His enthusiasm for powerlifting has lasted far longer than his commitment to RINGSPANN. He has been lifting weights in his spare time for almost 25 years and has fought his way to the top of this sport.
2022 was a particularly successful year in this respect: German champion (of the GDFPF) and European Championship title as well as World Championship third place (of the WDFPF) in his weight class!
Most recently, he quickly left his opponents behind at the WDFPF European Championships in England and won the title with a performance of 140 kilos. 🏆💪

Congratulations to you, Kenan Abel, and we wish you continued success and fun in this discipline - especially at the German Championship you are targeting for 2023 as well as the World Championship in Sardinia. 🎉

We can now offer you new high-temperature spiders for the torsionally flexible jaw couplings of our REK...DCO series and its Smart Solution REK...DCS. ⚙️

💡The new spider materials are suitable for operating temperatures of up to +120°C and offer up to 13 percent higher strength than the previously used plastics. This significantly increases the nominal torques of the jaw coupling compared to the previous versions.

We welcome our new subsidiary RINGSPANN Sudamérica to the RINGSPANN family. This subsidiary offers our customers, particularly those in the mining industry, direct on-site service in Chile, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador as a competent sales contact. 🇨🇱🇵🇪🇨🇴🇪🇨

For several years now, we have been pursuing with determination to position ourselves internationally in the best possible way for you:

While the subsidiaries in Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Spain and the USA have existed for some time, further companies in China, Benelux and India were added by 2011. In the years from 2014 to 2016, foreign subsidiaries were established in Sweden, South Africa and Italy, and RINGSPANN Austria was founded in 2017. In 2018 RINGSPANN Singapore and RINGSPANN Australia started operations. The following year, RINGSPANN Bosnia-Herzegovina was launched and 2020 saw the foundation of RINGSPANN Korea (South Korea).

📣 "Fit & Fun" is back!
After a long break due to Corona, the leisure activities for our employees of the same name started again with a joint bike tour. 🚴

☀️27° and bright sunshine: 24 participants from all company divisions cycled from Bad Homburg along the Nidda to Frankfurt-Höchst the day before yesterday. Even minor mishaps couldn't stop us: A broken chain and a flat tyre were quickly repaired. After a snack at Höchst Castle, the colourful mix of bikes and e-bikes made their way back to Bad Homburg across the fields. 🏰

👉 Speaking of which - the topic of "e-bikes" is of particular importance to RINGSPANN. With our cage freewheels E, we have developed products specifically for e-bikes: The freewheels are used to completely decouple the gearbox and motor, allowing the user to ride without motor assistance just like a classic bike.

Acrobat for the powertrain 🤸‍♀️

A real innovation in the field of shaft couplings – our new hinged joint coupling for compensating extreme radial, axial and angular displacements.

It allows plant and machine builders to compensate easily and reliably for technically unavoidable changes in length and position in drive trains. Its functionality is based on the interaction of two joints rotated exactly 90° against each other and several mounted bolts.

We are expanding our range of Housing Freewheels with the new FHD series. 💥

In power plants, refineries as well as conveyor and process engineering plants, our Housing Freewheels as overrunning clutches ensure their availability in the event of a failure of the energy supply or a drive and allow energy-efficient partial load operation.

In order to further reduce the maintenance costs of the plant operators, the mechanical disengaging function of the new type FHD enables the fast, safe and torque-free disengagement of rotating shafts from the drive train. Individual power units can thus be replaced during operation. 🔄🔧

🚥 3,2,1, ... Go! 🏎
Last weekend, the new Formula 1 season kicked off with a strong comeback (for now) from Ferrari and new regulations that allow for closer and more exciting wheel-to-wheel racing.

But even with 22 races still to go, one thing remains the same:
If the car stands in the pit lane for too long, the race is over.

So the requirements are set: The car must be reliable, fast and, if possible, run without failures. However, if an unscheduled pit stop is necessary, the car and its components must be made roadworthy again as quickly as possible.

When designing each of our products, we also focus on your application and thus on the realisation of safe and maintenance-friendly drive solutions. For this reason, many of our products are even available maintenance-free or with quick and uncomplicated maintenance, so that you can get going again in no time ⚙️🏁

💥Growth success paves the way for new measures💥

In order for a drive shaft to transmit its rotating force without loss, it needs a secure and fixed connection to the hub or shaft of the machine element to be moved. We offer a extensive portfolio of friction-locking shaft-hub-connections, including cone clamping elements, star discs, star spring washers, clamping systems for torque motors as well as two- and three-part shrink discs.

The latter in particular seem to have appealed to well-known transmission manufacturers, automation companies and plant manufacturers, as their demand for our shrink discs is contributing in large part to a new record for incoming orders in 2021 in the field of shaft-hub-connections. 📈⚙️

We are making room to grow 🚧
For some time now, there has been a lot of activity on the site behind Schaberweg 11: the construction of another plant for the production of brakes, clutches, shaft-hub connections and precision clamping fixtures is in full swing.

While the first walls of the office wing are already being erected, the last foundations for the steel girders are being poured, paving the way for the construction of the hall framework.

We are pleased that our headquarters at the Bad Homburg site is continuing to grow, creating additional space for our employees and capacity for manufacturing our products.

Even if our group-internal RINGSPANN Academy cannot take place as a face-to-face training course, we continue to do everything we can to ensure that our employees are trained for you in the best possible way. 🎓👍

In order to keep our colleagues from both technology and sales up to date throughout the Group, we are now offering product training and application seminars over the course of the year, for now online. These are led by our experts from the various product divisions and are recorded during the sessions. In this way, the preserved and compactly prepared knowledge can also be used to train new employees quickly and efficiently. ⏯👩💻

At the current training session, our Business Developer Brakes Martin Ohler talks, among other things, about braking solutions for large conveying systems and hoisting applications for example to safeguard crane systems at port and container terminals. 🏗🚢

We wish you and our Chinese colleagues a good start into the Year of the Tiger .🐯

As a symbol of strength and bravery, children in China often wear the tiger in the form of small patches on their clothing for good luck and protection against evil.

But what makes this animal the majestic but also fearsome phantom of the jungle?

Very cleverly, it sneaks up on its victim against the wind, leaving its prey completely unsuspecting. Cautiously, below eye level of his next victim, he stalks ... and now it happens! He shoots out of the protective thicket in a flash and pursues his prey at a gallop with almost 6 m long jumps and a speed of up to 60 km/h.

Perfect braking is therefore essential in its hunt. Without this optimal interaction of "components" such as muscles, claws, padding of his paws, the tiger would therefore only be a big kitten, whose meal would often run away.

How can the work of designers in drive technology be simplified and the assembly costs of and manufacturers significantly reduced?🛠
By providing them with package solutions consisting of several system that they can integrate directly into their drivetrains completely and with reduced assembly costs.👍

Our latest product innovations in this area are the ready-to-install units REB...DCS and REK...DCS, which consist of a shaft coupling or jaw coupling with brake disc. The fact that no additional shaft extension is required for the brake disc is just one of the design advantages of these smart solutions.

Not only does it support you in meeting the constantly increasing quality requirements, but it also provides you with more application-related and economic flexibility - our mechanical expansion sleeve mandrel HDDS. ⚙️

As an alternative to hydraulic expanding fixtures, it convinces with a comparably high concentricity of ≤ 5 µm with a surprisingly great expansion. While the first manufacturers are testing the HDDS as a potential standard component in their cutting machines, we also see it as a component for simplified entry into automated .

Employees who understand their trade form the backbone of every company. This makes it all the more important for us to bring the theoretical training in the classrooms even closer to practice. 🏫⚙️

Recently, initiated by a committed teacher, we were able to provide a vocational school with illustrative material on shaft-hub-connections, such as star washers, cone clamping elements and shrink discs for use in lessons - free of charge, of course - to help the apprentices link theory and practice.
