Wanna know the story behind the Currywurst? 🤓
The birth of the currywurst goes back to the time right after World War II. The city was devastated and the food resources were low. Herta Heuwer did some trading with British soldiers and was able to get her hands on ketchup, curry powder and some other spices. Pouring the sauce over a boiled and sliced sausage - done! That´s how she invented the beloved street food. Her sausages were an instant hit and soon she was selling rapidly in her little street kiosk in Charlottenburg.
