When you organised the trip of a lifetime for a great team of anglers from central Europe to the southernmost tip of the world, from there to the equator and back to Europe, and no strike nor cancellations nor stand by tickets could stop them.

When you are sharing the boat on your last day of fishing with a good friend, who witnesses how a chapter of a book opened in 2008 can finallly be closed with a magnificent Permit, there is not much more you could ask for.

Liebe , lieber Michael, liebes - Team,

Herzlichen Glückwunsch und alles Gute zu Eurem besonderen Jubiläum.
40 Jahre FliegenFischen, meinen ersten Artikel schrieb ich in 2011, und ihr wart immer da mit einem Ohr für junge Autorenideen, als Ratgeber, und auch als Mentoren für das , als es noch in den Kinderschuhen steckte.
führte das Magazin mit dem gleichen Spirit weiter, der zu tollen und unvergessenen Artikeln führte.

In der heutigen Zeit ist es sicher alles andere als einfach, ein Printmagazin herauszugeben und am Leben zu halten. Ich hoffe, dass die deutschsprachigen Fliegenfischer das noch viele Jahrzehnte zu schätzen wissen, und das Magazin weiterhin unterstützen.

Schön dass es euch gibt, vielen Dank für alles und auf die nächsten 40 Jahre🥂🥳

PS: Ich dachte bei der Masse an Autoren sollte man die 5 Fragen für die Jubiläumsausgabe „norddeutsch“ kurz und knapp beantworten. Das habe ich wohl hinbekommen, die gesparten Worte spendiere ich dann gerne einem zukünftigen Artikel 😇😀

Talking about fly fishing in Spain would not be complete without the Iberian barbel. Willing to rise to dry flies in still and running water, being very strong, and considering it’s sight fishing all the time, you have to try it and maybe combine with some trout fishing. The tapas in the shade just make up for the perfect break in between 🐟🤤

A great good source at Los Roques are the minnows being present in overwhelming numbers. Bonefish learned to hunt from pelicans, and you can actually catch big Bones on a dry fly there 😎
