👉 What do I need to bear in mind as an inexperienced touring cyclist?

✅ You can follow these tips:
- Take it slow: short stages, only a few days
- Allow time for activities other than cycling: there is so much to see and experience.
- Don't take too much luggage with you.
- Choose your luggage carefully.
- "Packing lists" are available on the Internet, e.g. https://www.adfc.de/auf-tour

❓ Is a helmet compulsory on the routes?
The question of whether helmets are compulsory in Germany has been controversially discussed, but according to the current legal situation, there is no obligation to wear a helmet. Even though the infrastructure for infrastructure for cyclists in Germany is very good and the "Germany's Top River Routes" are particularly characterised by their flat routes, it is recommended to wear a cycle helmet. Children in particular should be protected and wear a well-fitting helmet.
If you are travelling on a pedelec or e-bike, there is no obligation to wear a helmet in
Germany (exception: e-bikes with a motor motorised assistance above 25 km/h).

Four stars for the Moselle cycle route from Perl to Koblenz - Congratulations!🥳😍

The Moselle Cycle Route leads from the German-French-Luxembourg border near Perl along the Moselle through the oldest wine region in Germany to Koblenz, where the Moselle and Rhine meet. The 248-kilometre route connects world-famous vineyards, historic wine villages and sights along ten stages.

🎖The popular Moselle Cycle Route has now been rated for the first time by the German Cyclists' Federation (ADFC) and awarded a four-star quality rating for cyclists.

In order to receive the seal of quality, the high quality standards for long-distance cycle routes must be achieved on the basis of eight criteria that are standardised throughout Germany. In its assessment, the jury consistently takes the perspective of cycle travellers. The highlights of the Moselle Cycle Route include the landscape experience, the Moselle's culinary culture and a visit to the historic wine villages. Cyclists on the Moselle Cycle Route can enjoy a surface that is easy to cycle on, consistent signposting, optimal connections to the bus and rail network and an excellent tourist infrastructure.

🚴‍♂️ Ik kijk uit naar de volgende fietstocht over het Moezel-fietspad! 🌞

Gedachten aan eindeloze wijngaarden, pittoreske dorpjes en de betoverende Moezelvallei brengen zeker een beetje warmte in deze koude decemberdagen. ❤

Er is iets magisch aan dit fietspad dat langs de schilderachtige rivier slingert. Het idee om door besneeuwde historische stadjes te rollen, omringd door glooiende heuvels en al uit te kijken naar de bloeiende wijnstokken van volgend jaar doet het hart van elke fietser sneller kloppen. 🌄🍷

Wie van jullie heeft het Moezelfietspad in de winter al eens verkend en kan ons erover vertellen? 🚴‍♀️❄️
