Ramadan Kareem! For this occasion, we want to wish our partners, clients and friends around the world all the blessings of the holy month! May this Ramadan bring joy, health and wealth to you.

A very special time in Oman and the Middle East just began. It is the beginning of the fasting month Ramadan. During this period, the Muslims take a step back from the stress of their everyday life and focus on inner retreat and feeling Allah’s closeness. For one month, the life of an Omani is dominated by fasting in the day and celebrating at night. From dusk to dawn, the faithful refrain from eating, drinking, or consuming any luxury goods, such as chewing gum or smoking. Therefore, travelers who are in Oman around this time shouldn't consume food or drinks on the streets during the daytime in order to show respect to the locals. Additionally, in some hotels you will find some restrictions. Nevertheless, it is a very special, fascinating and unique time of the year to visit Oman. You will gain an insight into the Muslim culture and feel the exceptional atmosphere! 📸:

Due to the desert getting really hot in the daytime, you will definitely need to cool down. What about about jumping into the turqouise water of Wadi Shab? 💙
There is no better spot to cool down than this Wadi. Here, you can stop on your way back to Muscat when driving along the coastal road from our private desert camp. Take a wonderful hike to the different water pools and enjoy the serenity in nature.

Do you know what time of the year it is? ☀️ It is the right time to obtain the resin which is used as incense. In the very south of Oman, you will find the heaven on earth for Frankincense, where thousands of Frankincense trees grow. In order to archive a harvest, the trees have to grow for 8 - 10 years in an undisturbed environment. Then, in the period of March and April, the Omanis slash the bark with a special knife and let the exuded resin bleed out and harden. After 14 days, when it is completely dry, it can finally be harvested. After that, the procedure starts again and actually only the resin which isn't harvested after the third cut, will be sold in the stores. After every round of tapping the tree, the resin not only gets brighter and more transparent, but the quality also increases. @ Oman

Did you know that the school system in Oman is quite similar to England? The kids start with the elementary school, then middle school and after they continue with high school. After they have graduate, they can apply for universities. The reason why they have this system is because Sultan Qaboos Ibn Said went to school in England and therefore he values good education. 📖

Isn’t this chandelier breathtaking? 😍 It used to be the world’s largest chandelier until the Emiratis and Qataris came to measure it, so they could create bigger ones in order to take over the title.
This chandelier holds 600,000 shining bright Swarovski crystals and is gold plated. It‘s definitely worth a visit! ✨

Anyone up for a round tour on Oman’s “green mountain” ❓ 🌄
At an elevation of nearly 3,000 m, the region offers ideal conditions for hiking, 🚶🚶‍♀️ mountain biking 🚵 or a carefree day full of breathtaking views.
The region gained the name Jebel Akhdar which means “green mountain” because it counts among the most fertile in the country.

What about some Karak tea? ☕
This nectary beverage is proving to be a bestseller: Shops and stalls have opened up in virtually every neighbourhood in Muscat.
What’s the secret behind? 🤔 Some credited it to Oman’s ingrained passion for coffee (which translates into anything steaming hot, sugary-sweet and served in small disposable cups), with an added twist: cardamom flavor.
