Our Story
It all started back in the year 2013 when three good friends were sitting together and having some beer…
You can already figure out that in the beginning the whole idea of setting up our own surfcamp was a crackpot idea. But it just kept sticking in our minds and filled our hearts with a strong longing for fulfiment. As this thought would not keep quiet in our heads, one day it happened that one of us, Alex, came back from his first surf trip to Sri Lanka and literally was enchanted by the breathtaking nature of the island and especially by its constant and perfect waves that he had been surfing during his trip. To make a long story short: He just found the perfect place for finally setting up our first drivethru surfcamp.
Of course, the beer helped a little bit to make the decision for Raphi and Waschdl more easy. And by the end of 2013 we finally found ourselves sitting on a plane on our way to Sri Lanka - together with some other friendly accomplices and a huge bag of surfboards - realizing what we were about to do and hoping for the best.
In our very first surfcamp in Ahangama we had room for eight guests and enjoyed the island and the surf very much. But with the time passing by, there were more and more people wanting to stay and surf with us. So after some trade-off-discussions the three of us finally decided to move to a bigger place in 2014: Madiha! Time passed by and in October 2016 we opened our second location in Polhena, only 2.5 km away from Madiha. Thanks again to our friendly neighbour Jayalath who - completely randomly - told us about a guy from Polhena who put his hotel for sale. So we got in quickly - and recognised for the first time: Our dream was becoming true and there was actually the chance that all this could finally pay us a living. Holy Sh..awarma!
