The company visit series concluded with MAN Energy Solutions and Lundbeck, both hosted in Rio de Janeiro on April 10th.

At MAN Energy Solutions, we explored the company’s decarbonization strategy, gained insights into the Brazilian energy sector, and discussed the growing role and potential of ethanol production.

At Lundbeck, we were introduced to the company, its mission, values, and global impact. We also learned about People & Culture activities, commercial operations, regulatory affairs, and current market trends. The visit concluded with a live Q&A session on career development and industry challenges, followed by a discussion of key takeaways and an office tour.

Thank you to everyone at MAN Energy solution and at Lundbeck for having us👏

The company visit series continued with Novonesis hosting their official company day on April 8th in Curitiba.

The day started with talks about strategy in LATAM and bioenergy, led by Ivan and Fabricio. These topics were highly relevant in helping participants connect the information they received about the case to real-world applications and Novonesis.

To build on this foundation, the case was split into three case-solving sessions during the trip. This structure ensured participants could focus on each sub-question in their business case, and gave them enough time to fully understand the material and collaborate effectively as a team. During their second case-solving session, each group was given the opportunity to write two questions related to the case that they wanted answered.

These questions were then brought into a live Q&A session, hosted together with our partners from Novonesis, Fabio and Louise, during the Novonesis company day, where our experts - Ivan, Fabricio, and Jaqueline - explained and answered them in plenary.

The day continued with sessions on operations in LATAM and public affairs, led by Diego and Ethel, and concluded with another tour of the production facilities and laboratories at the Araucária site, Curitiba. During the tour, participants had the chance to see what DDGS actually looks like, as well as observe the impact of biosolutions on products like detergent and beer.

A big thank you to everyone from Novonesis Curitiba and a special thank you to Ivan and Fabricio for being key figures in the case, bringing valuable insights and playing a crucial role throughout. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Diego, Jesper and Jaqueline for your incredible contribution to the case👏

The company visit series began with Bain & Company, who held their official company day at their São Paulo office on Friday April 4th.

Our participants started the day with a quick recap of key principles, frameworks, and tools commonly used in consulting, a solid foundation before diving into the first session.

A local partner from Bain provided us with insight into what doing business in Brazil looks like from the firm’s perspective. This included reflections on the business environment and economy, Bain’s client base, case examples, and the working culture in the São Paulo office.

Following that, our two fantastic partners from Bain, Patrick and Emma - both consultants - introduced the firm’s approach to solving business problems and building strategies. This offered a clear picture of how Bain creates impact for its clients.

Next came the much anticipated case reveal. Together with our outstanding OT member, Julie, who did an incredible job developing and writing the case, participants were assigned to their groups and briefed on the topic.

We wrapped up the day with a session focused on feedback: both how to give it, and how to receive it effectively. Each group also held a discussion to define team principles they’ll commit to throughout the case work.

A huge thank you to everyone at Bain for welcoming us into your office and giving our participants valuable insight into the world of management consulting.

We’ve officially wrapped up our 2-week trip to Brazil, having spent time in São Paulo, Curitiba, and Rio de Janeiro.

On our very first day in Brazil, we had the opportunity to visit the Novonesis Araucária production site in Valinhos. We were welcomed with a traditional Brazilian breakfast. A big thank you to our Novonesis colleagues for the warm hospitality, the insightful tour of the site and lab, and for providing us with a great overview of your day-to-day operations🙌

The trip to Brazil is fast approaching, and we can hardly wait! Before we depart, it’s essential to prepare and equip our fantastic participants with the skills needed to solve the case successfully🤩

Over the course of three days of pre-seminars, we will engage in a mix of team collaboration exercises, personal performance, and an in-depth look at Novonesis within the realm of biosolutions and operations. Additionally, participants will gain comprehensive case-solving tools to help them approach cases like professionals.

Tomorrow, we kick off our first pre-seminar at Djøf. During the pre-seminar, Djøf will introduce our participants to valuable exercises and tools focused on professional development, personal growth, and communication skills.

Apart from providing tools to help you master critical skills, Djøf is aslo a trade union and a professional organization representing individuals working or studying in fields such as law, economics, strategy, management, politics, administration, business, research, and communication. They offer guidance on employment contracts, salaries, and career development, including support for students👏

Sounds interesting? Make sure to stay tuned for tomorrow! We’ll be capturing key moments, giving you an inside look at how these pre-seminars unfold.
