Bois Cotlette Estate, Self Sufficient Plantation, Historic Site Destination, Established 1763, Recently Opened to Public

Dating from the early years of French settlement in the 1720's, Bois Cotlette is one of
the oldest surviving estates on Dominica. Nestled in a valley within the active
Morne Plat Pays volcanic complex, it is the best perserved example of plantation
architecture on the island, combining buildings for the processing of coffee, sugar
and cocoa, as well as its French colonial "maison de maitre".
