The celebration of Christmas Eve in the Dominican Republic is a vibrant experience filled with traditions rooted in the country's rich cultural heritage. From early December, the streets are adorned with colorful lights, festive decorations and cheerful people that anticipate the arrival of these festivities.

Noche Buena, celebrated on December 24th, is an occasion to gather family and friends around a table filled with delicious dishes. Among the typical delicacies are roast pork, moro de guandules (rice with pigeon peas), pasteles en hoja (leaf-wrapped plantain pockets), and a variety of traditional desserts. Music and dance are essential components of the celebration, and many people participate in religious processions that culminate in the Midnight Mass.
