🇪🇨 The gastronomy of Ecuador's Day of the Dead, or Día de los Difuntos, includes the traditional colada morada and guagua de pan:

☕Colada morada
A hot, thick, and sweet drink made with black corn flour, fruits, and herbs. The original recipe included black corn and llama blood. Today, it's made with fruits like pineapple, raspberries, and blackberries.

🥖Guagua de pan
The word "guagua" means "baby" in Quichua, and the tradition is said to have begun when the Catholic church prohibited the removal of the dead from their graves.
In Ecuador, guaguas de pan are traditional sweet breads shaped like small babies.
