The Easter in Ecuador is a vibrant and a religious time in the region. Marked by the celebration of Holy Week. Throughout this week, communities across the country gather to commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ throughout the week, and on Friday the cucuruchos, participants dressed in purple robes and hoods, march through the streets, often carrying statues representing scenes from The Bible. These processions are accompanied by solemn music and prayers, creating an atmosphere of reverence as they travel through the contry.
