The andean c**k of the rock bird is an endemic bird which can be seen in a bird lek, a lek is where birds (males) do their mating display, this bird does every morning from aprox. 06:30AM to 07:45AM and by the afternoon too from 2:30PM to even 4:30PM but is more light for photography in the morning. In the whole cloud forest area which covers an area of near 880 square km the andean c**k of the rock bird lek can be seen in 4 different areas. There are 2 places near Mindo town where you can see this bird display and photograph them. Hey, you do not need a camera with big lens, most bird guides have spotting bird scopes where you can put your mobile phone on the eye cup and take a photo through it, this is called digiscoping, most bird guides can help in taking great photos !
