2000 heads of rams were found stationed in Abydos

The American archaeological mission affiliated with New York University, working in the area of ​​​​the temple of King Ramses II in Abydos, succeeded in uncovering more than 2,000 mummified rams' heads dating back to the Ptolemaic era, in addition to a huge building from the Sixth Dynasty.

This was stated by Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, stressing the importance of this discovery, which unveils important details in the life and history of the Temple of King Ramesses II in Abydos and the surrounding area, especially in light of the archaeological and historical importance of this temple, which contributes greatly to the knowledge of the site. The temple and the life it witnessed for more than two thousand years, from the Sixth Dynasty to the Ptolemaic era.

He added that the mission also uncovered a number of mummified animals next to the heads of rams, including a group of ewes, dogs, wild goats, cows, deer and mongooses, which were found placed in one of the newly discovered storage rooms inside the northern area of ​​the temple.

For his part, Dr. Sameh Iskandar, head of the mission, indicated that the discovery of this large number of mummified rams may have been used as votive offerings during the practice of an unprecedented worship of rams in Abydos during the Ptolemaic period, in addition to that it may indicate that King Ramesses II was revered in Abydos. He remained after his death for a thousand years.

As for the discovered huge building, which dates back to the era of the Sixth Dynasty, it is characterized by a different and unique architectural design, as it is distinguished by its huge thick walls, which are about five meters wide, pointing out that this building will contribute strongly to reconsidering and thinking about the activities and architecture of the Old Kingdom in Abydos, and about the nature of And the shape of the place and the activities that were taking place in it before Ramesses II established his temple and the accessories that surrounded it.

Professor Mohamed Abdel-Badi, head of the Central Department of Upper Egypt Antiquities at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, added that the mission also succeeded in uncovering parts of the northern wall of the wall surrounding the temple and its appurtenances, which calls for changing what has been entrenched in the minds about the shape of the temple of King Ramses II and what was described and drawn for it. It has been circulated among scholars and researchers since it was discovered more than 150 years ago, in addition to finding parts of statues, parts of papyri, remains of ancient trees, clothes and leather shoes. The mission will complete its excavation work at the site to reveal more about the history of this site and to study and document what was revealed during the current excavation season.

Anche se la regione è ricca di templi e di siti archeologici e ha una storia che risale all' epoca faraonica, per la maggioranza dei turisti l'attrattiva dell' oasi è costituita dalla vegetazione e dalla quiete.

Per questo motivo gran parte dei turisti evita Medinet el-Faiyum, una moderna città poco interessante, mentre preferisce addentrarsi nel cuore della regione, il Lago Qarun.

L'oasi esisteva già nell'antichità, il lago era collegato al Nilo da una serie di canali costruiti da Amenernhat III. Più tardi invece, la zona divenne uno dei si ti preferiti dai faraoni per i loro momenti di svago.

La Tomba di Sennefer ha il soffitto decorato con un pergolato lussureggiante di uva nera pronta per la vendemmia e questa è una delle vigne dipinte più antiche del mondo.
L'originale decorazione e la raffigurazione magistrale dei rituali funerari rendono questa tomba uno dei capolavori più grandi della riva occidentale di Tebe.
Sennefer visse sotto il Regno di Amenhotep II (1450-1425 a.C.), un periodo prospero per il paese in quanto ogni anno affluivano verso l'Egitto tributi abbondanti, parte dei quali erano offerti dal faraone al dio Amon come ringraziamento per le vittorie riportate.
Sulla tomba sono stati rinvenuti numerosi attributi di Sennefer, ma il principale è quello di governatore di Tebe incaricato di amministrare la città, i porti sul Nilo, i distretti rurali.
Curava anche la raccolta dei tributi, consistenti in cereali e derrate alimentari, era responsabile dei lavori nelle necropoli, della manutenzione dei templi, direttore dei granai, dei campi e degli armenti di Amon.

El ejemplo más antiguo conocido del exquisito pigmento data de hace unos 5000 años y fue encontrado en la pintura de una tumba del reinado de Ka-Sen, el último faraón de la Primera Dinastía. El Azul Egipcio se utilizó abundantemente como pigmento pudiendo encontrarse en estatuas, pinturas de tumbas y sarcófagos. Además, también fue utilizado para producir una cerámica esmaltada conocida como mayólica egipcia.
Para la creencia egipcia, el azul era considerado el color del cielo y por lo tanto del universo. También fue asociado con el agua y el Nilo. Así, el azul era el color de la vida, de la fertilidad y del renacimiento.
El lapislázuli es una piedra semipreciosa de tono azul oscuro que podía ser molida en polvo, se trataba de un artículo de lujo y tenía que ser importado de Afganistán.
La fabricación del Azul Egipcio al final se difundió más allá de las fronteras de Egipto y puede encontrarse por todo el Mediterráneo. El Azul Egipcio se halla en numerosos objetos griegos y romanos, incluso en estatuas del Partenón de Atenas y pinturas murales de Pompeya. A pesar de su amplia aplicación en el arte, el Azul Egipcio dejó de usarse, y su método de producción cayó en el olvido cuando la época romana llegó a su fin.

Un fenomeno molto speciale si svolge 2 volte all'anno ad Abu Simbel.
Il 22 febbraio e il 22 ottobre i raggi del sole passano attraverso il tempio fino al santuario dove ci sono rappresentati gli dei Amon, Ra Horakty, Ptah e lo stesso Ramses2 divinizzato.
Tutti loro rimangono illuminati per 20 minuti, tranne Ptah che era il dio delle tenebre.
È meraviglioso vedere come hanno disposto l'orientamento del tempio in modo che, proprio in quelle date si potesse godere della magia e del cosiddetto "miracolo del sole"

Ciao carissimi
É degno di menzione che questo spettacolo meraviglioso é fatto sulla superficie del lago sacro nel tempio di Karnak !!!! .
è stato preparato un teatro di ferro sotto l'acqua per 9 metri ( la profondita del lago sacro ) .
c'è anche un teatro che da sul lago dove la gente di tutto il mondo riesce a vedere lo spettacolo di suoni e luce ogni sera .
il lago viene riempito d'acqua del nilo tramite canali o tunel scavati durante l'epoca faraonica cosi i sacerdoti potevano fare l'abluzione con l'acqua del lago prima di fare i riti sacri dentro il tempio

O maior obelisco do mundo antigo jamais foi terminado. Começou a ser esculpido em uma pedreira no território da atual cidade de Aswan por encomenda da faraó Hatshepsut, que reinou entre 1479 e 1458 a.C.

A Cannabis, segundo a literatura, foi uma das primeiras plantas a ser cultivada pela humanidade, com vestígios de sua utilização há cerca de 12 mil anos. Sua entrada na Europa, em algumas das referências bibliográf**as, ocorre por volta de 430 a.C. pela Grécia devido a suas propriedades medicinais, e em Roma para confecções de velas para barcos e vestuário. Essa utilização se manteve por mais de 2 mil anos na Europa, visto que as velas das naus que desembarcaram nessas terras em 1500 eram produzidas de cânhamo, uma das variedades da Cannabis.
