I am Egyptian, with a multicultural background and International citizenship, yet, I was stunned when I stayed at “ ” within the – built during 1092 by the .
Cairo, the double walled city, with its fortified gates and secretive underground tunnels was founded by the Fatimid Dynasty in 969 CE as “Royal city of the Fatimid Caliphate” after Gawhar Al-Siquilli successful conquest of . Originally Tunisian, The Fatimid injected the Arabic - Northern African architectural spirit into their newly founded seat of power.
& University is still flourishing as the bedrock of the Sunni-Islamic faith. Despite the fact that it was originally built to establish a Shiite stronghold minaret in Egypt, Al-Azhar was transformed by “Salah-Al-Din” into a prominent Sunni institution and a board of Jurisdiction during his rule.
The first Mental Hospital built by , including an Eye Hospital, was attached to Sultan Qalawun Mosque, as a landmark accomplishment. Till today, the layout of the clinic is impressive.
Indeed, the area took me through a time-travel experience, with the contemporary shops selling day-to-day necessities dotted amongst the thousand years’ old monumental minarets.
Every stone is Heritage treasure, with humble work in progress for restoration of this magically preserved era of confusing Egyptian history.

The salty water takes you above the water and makes you float, The salt lakes have similar hyper-salinity properties to those of Jordan’s Dead Sea. This also means that the lakes hold great healing properties (Optional).

Day 10:
After breakfast, visiting Shali Fortress was built on a hill inside a Protective wall originally breached by a single gate, then visiting “Gebel Al Mawta” Mountain of the dead is a conical mountain a little over a kilometer to the north of Shali. Tombs from twenty-sixth Dynasty, Ptolemaic, and the Roman periods are cut into the side of the mountain, there are four tombs worth seeing at Gebel Al – Mawta, then visiting The spring of the sun or Cleopatra's bath, legend maintains that Cleopatra swam here when she visited Siwa oasis (Optional).

Day 11 till day 14:
Morning transfer from Siwa to Cairo airport, fly to Sharm El Sheikh, transfer to Sharm EL Sheikh hotel, you can enjoy water sports and diving & snorkeling activity, Optional tours available such as: Glass boat, Sunset Bedouin dinner, Safari in Sharm EL Sheikh Desert, and desert folklore show. Also, Nearby Ras Mohamed, the white Island, or Dahab resort are optional tours.
