Al-Muizz li-Din Allah al-Fatimi Street, or al-Muizz street, is one of Cairo's oldest streets 🇪🇬 as it dates back to the foundation of the city by the Fatimid dynasty in the 10th century, under their fourth caliph, Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah (after whom the street is named). Historically, it was the most important artery of the city and constituted the main axis of the city's economic zones where its souqs (markets) were concentrated, which we can still admire now in the very famous Souq Khan al Khalili ✨

In Köppen-Geiger climate classification system classifies its climate as desert (BWk). It has the coldest❄️ nights of any city in Egypt.Its humidity is very low. The highest mountains ranges 🗻in Egypt surround the town with many smaller valleys leading from the basin to the mountains in all directions. The township is at an elevation of 1,600 metres (5,200 ft). The high altitude of the town itself and the high ranges of mountains which embrace it provide a pleasant climate, with refreshing mild summer nights and excellent spring, while winter days are relatively cool for the region and the nights can get very cold on rare occasions, making it sometimes necessary to heat buildings and public places. Different sources give different average temperatures for Saint Catherine's town.Saint Catherine is considered to be one of the coldest towns in Egypt with Nekhel and many other places especially in mountainous Sinai. Infrequent snowfalls in Saint Catherine take place during the winter months of December, January and February, however snow has also occurred in late autumn and early spring.

It is one of Egypt's ancient palaces with a special architectural style. It was built by the Belgian millionaire Baron Edward Empain, who came to Egypt from India at the end of the nineteenth century, so he proceeded to establish a new housing project in the Cairo desert under the name "Heliopolis", and decided to build his own palace in it, so he chose a design in the style of Hindu-European architecture by the French architect Alexander Marcel was on display during an engineering exhibition in Paris. The construction of the palace began in 1906 and opened in 1911.

Digging more south 300 km away from Aswan to the massive 2 rock-cut temples in the village of Abu Simbel. Built by king Ramses II for his wife Nefertari and himself to worship the gods, you certainly don’t want to miss the sunlight illuminating all the statues inside the bigger temple, every 22nd of February and 22nd of October!

➡️ Need a refreshment? Siwa oasis has hundreds of natural salt pools, as part of a salt mine rought outside the town. The pools can be both hot and cold and have their own benefits. They are particularly good for infections and skin problems. And the best is: you don't even need to know how to swim, as the salt will make you float like a boat! 🛀
