This Beautiful statue shows king Hormohep with his wife Ameni. Both of them represented with long tunic and wigs which were fashionable during 18th dynasty, New kingdom. The unusual feature of this Double statue is that the statue shows Queen Ameni holding her husband’s hands with both of hers.

Ramses ii as a child.

This admirable granite statue one of the masterpieces at Egyptian Museum, king Ramses ii shown as a child putting his finger in his mouth with side lock of hair. The unbelievable thing about this statue is that you can read the birth name of the king through this representation; the sun solar disc above the head of the king “RA”, the king as a child “MS”, and the reed plant in his hand “SW”, “RA MSSW” the name of the king. god Horon represented as a falcon behind the king providing him with protection.
The coronation name of the king also written in Cartouche on the base of the statue “WSR MAAT RA STP N RA” which means “the power is the justice of god Ra, chosen by god Ra”

Accidentally this statue discovered by Howard carter in 1898, carter was on his way home when his horse’s leg broke through the sodden ground into a small hole, this hole which he nicknamed “gate of horse” led to intact chamber; inside the chamber was this masterpiece of King Mentuhotep ii wrapped in linen.
