Eid Mubarak
Eid al-Adha is one of the two days of Muslims and agree on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah after the end of the stand on the day of Arafa, the position where the Muslim pilgrims to perform the most important rituals of Hajj, and ends on 13 Dhu al-Hijjah. This is also a commemoration of the story of Abraham when he saw the vision of God to sacrifice his son Ismail, and after the ratification of his son and vision, God ordered him to sacrifice his son, so Muslims are approaching God on this day to sacrifice an animal (sheep, cow, camel..).
The meat is then distributed to relatives, friends, and the poor - hence the name Eid al-Adha. In the morning you go and pray and you can hear the takbeer from the mosque. The imam (sheik) then preaches two khutbahs, and silent prayers are spoken. As for the ruling on Eid prayer, it is obligatory. Udhiyah is one of the rituals of Islam, which brings Muslims closer to God by offering slaughter of cattle from the first days of Eid al-Adha until the last days of Tashreeq.
The animals should be clean animals without any defects and the camels, cattle and sheep must be a particular age. Otherwise, the sacrifice will be not recognized.
The streets are busiest for new clothes, food and pastries. After Eid prayers, people go to their homes to congratulate their families and relatives. The whole family meets, the animal is slaughtered and sweets are served with coffee.
These are the customs of many Muslim countries.
Happy Eid everyone!
