A new temple of Zeus was unearthed at the beginning of May in the Sinai Peninsula. The temple ruins were found in Tell el-Farma (known as Pelusium in ancient times). Although the temple's existence was discovered in the early 1900s by French Egyptologist Jean Cledat, it wasn't unearthed until now. The temple is constructed of mud bricks, columns of pink granite, and a staircase made of marble that led to the temple.

Every time we think that we have scratched the surface of Egypt's rich history, we uncover a new piece of the puzzle.

Get lost in the never-ending maze of halls and rooms at Qasr Qarun in Fayoum! Founded in the 3rd century BC, this temple was dedicated to the god Sobek-Ra-- a combination of the crocodile god Sobek and the sun god Ra. Do not be fooled by the exterior of this temple, for hidden within is a series of chambers, staircases, corridors and tunnels filled with inscriptions of the past. Every year on December 21, the sun enters the temple and illuminates it from within.

Opened in 2006, the Imhotep Museum in Saqqara is a modern museum filled with much to see! Located just a few steps away from the Step Pyramid, the museum consists of 5 halls dedicated to the most valued architect of Ancient Egypt. Here you will find a fully-constructed model of Saqqara and its surrounding burial complexes created by Jean-Philippe Lauer. This model depicts Saqqara and what it looked like in Ancient times. Other things you can see at the museum include a blue-green faience, a statue of the scribe Ptah-Shepses, large alabaster jars, and a mummy excavated around the Teti Pyramid that is intricately decorated with yellow, blue, red, and black paint.

The Red Sea is the largest nature reserve in the region, and a top vacation hotspot. In order to preserve it, Egypt has taken the initiative to rebuild the coral reefs, protect the marine wildlife, and clean up the beaches.

There are over 210 species of coral, with up to 90% live coral cover in Ras Mohammed National Park- all thanks to conservation projects. The Dolphin Watch Alliance in Hurghada protects the dolphins and their habitats to ensure their survival.

Clean-ups have been organized on all Red Sea beaches and offshore in an effort to preserve the environment and ensure a healthy ecosystem thanks to the community and government support for marine conservation, and we expect to keep up the good work for years to come!
