Undisputedly the most expensive artifact on planet Earth!
The mask of the young Egyptian king Tutankhamun. The mask is made of pure, rare gold. The mask also contains rare gemstones, some of which are not currently found on Earth.

The mask says: “Power opens its wings to those who deserve it, and death spreads its wings to every coward.”

The mask is in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo 🇪🇬

Egyptian Museum Tutankhamun

Tutankhamun or Tutankhamen, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled c. 1332 – 1323 BC during the late Eighteenth Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Born Tutankhaten, he was likely a son of Akhenaten, thought to be the KV55 mummy.
Tutankhamen wasn't an especially important king, but his tomb was the only royal burial found intact in modern times. The tomb was important because it let archaeologists record what an Egyptian king's tomb looked like and learn more about ancient Egypt.
