Tutankhamun's tomb is one of the most famous pharaonic tombs in Egypt, as it contains many treasures and precious collectibles that reflect the ancient Egyptian civilization and art. In this photo, we see some of the most important and precious contents of the tomb, such as the golden sarcophagus containing the body of the little king, the ornate chair he used in his lifetime, jewelry, rings and golden statues. All these pieces testify to the splendor and beauty of ancient Egyptian art, and embody the character and story of Tutankhamun, who ruled Egypt at an early age and died under mysterious circumstances.

Do you know that this salt roll was one of the reasons for discovering the treasures of Tutankhamun’s tomb?

If you go to the Metropolitan Museum one day, you will come across this scroll made of linen and filled with natron salt. Perhaps you will be a little surprised if you learn that it dates back to the year 1327 BC, and of course it came from Egypt 🇪🇬

But that is not all of the matter. This small scroll was a reason to draw attention to King Tutankhamun, whose name appears frequently in the royal lists of the names of the kings of Egypt, and whose grave is not known. So how did this happen? 😲

In December 1907, the wealthy American Theodore David was following up on some excavation work that he was financing near the tomb of King Seti I. The digging shovels quickly revealed a number of pottery jars filled with natron salt. On these jars was written the coronation name of the young king Tutankhamun. The master did not bother. David revealed what he considered to be worthless jars filled with salt and sold them to the Metropolitan Museum because his goal was treasure hunting, not natron jars 😂

Years passed, and Howard Carter began investigating information about the young king’s tomb, when he learned that there were jars filled with natron salt bearing the name of King Tut ♥️

This sparked his enthusiasm to search for the unknown tomb, because natron salt was used in mummification, and this meant that King Tut had undergone a mummification process and was buried as a king, which was achieved when digging shovels revealed the largest archaeological discovery in the twentieth century by Carter 🇪🇬💪

His features are the same as those of the deceased) in the presence of Osiris 🧐.

“History was recorded on a piece of stone to become one of the most important monuments in Egypt and the world.”

Palermo stone 🪨

Palermo stone

The Palermo Stone is the largest of seven remaining fragments of a large stela known as the Royal Annals of the Old Kingdom, which contains a list of the kings of Egypt from the First Dynasty to the beginning of the Fifth Dynasty, and records important events in each year of their reign. It is believed that the stela was carved during the Fifth Dynasty (ca. 2392-2283 BC).

The stone is preserved in the Regional Archaeological Museum in Palermo, and the rest of the painting is in the museums of Cairo and London.

The painting was carved on a black basalt stone slab, towards the end of the Fifth Dynasty. It lists the kings of ancient Egypt after the unification of Lower and Upper Egypt, starting with King Narmer. Today it is preserved in the Antonio Salinas Regional Archaeological Museum in Palermo, Italy, from where it takes its name.

The Palermo Stone - part of the Egyptian Royal Annals - located in Palermo, Italy.
The seven surviving fragments of the Royal Annals, including those preserved in Cairo and London, are sometimes called the "Palermo Stone", and the collection is also sometimes called the "Cairo Annals Stone", although the phrase "Cairo Stone" is used to refer to the extant fragments. In Cairo only.

Importance: The Palermo Stone and other parts of the Royal Annals constitute an essential source for the history of the Old Kingdom, and it is believed to be the oldest surviving historical text in ancient Egypt. For example, it preserves the names of figures from the royal families during the first five dynasties, which were not preserved by other sources.

Ahmose Nefertari, the legendary queen who ruled Egypt and became an idol
Did you know that Ahmose Nefertari was one of the greatest queens in the history of ancient Egypt? She is the daughter of Seqenen-Ra Taa II and Ihhotep, and the wife and sister of Ahmose I, founder of the Eighteenth Dynasty and the New Kingdom. She bore him several sons, including Amenhotep I, who succeeded him in power. Nefertari was a powerful and influential queen during the reign of her husband and son, and appeared in many inscriptions and statues that highlight her beauty and dignity. She bore the title of "The Great Wife of Amun", Which indicates her high religious status as a servant of the supreme idol in Egypt. After her death, she was buried in a sumptuous cemetery in the Valley of the Queens, where her sarcophagus and mummy were found in good condition. She was honored as a slave by the Egyptians in later eras, especially in the village of Deir el-Medina, where she was worshiped as the holy patroness of the Theban cemetery.

👀 Egyptian genes are passed down to grandchildren from grandparents in the smallest details 👸🤴💪

How did the ancient Egyptians set fire to a 3000-year-old lighter?
If you think that a fire lighter is a modern invention, you are mistaken. In the tomb of King Tutankhamun, an ancient and unique fire lighter was discovered, which was used by the ancient Egyptians to light a fire easily and quickly. This lighter is not just a stick or sulfur, it is a complex device with 12 resin-filled holes, which is a sticky and flammable substance. In addition, the lighter has a thin stick that rotates by hand in the holes, creating a spark through friction. This spark ignites flammable material that is placed on top of the pits, such as sawdust or grass. To increase the stability of the lighter, a separate head is attached to the drill stick. This lighter is a testament to the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians in using technology to facilitate their lives.

Ibis Coffin (Thoth), 305-30 B.C.E. This elaborate ancient gilded ibis coffin contains a simple ibis mummy. Most coffins of this type have bronze heads and feet. Scientific testing suggests that the silver fittings seen here are quite likely modern replacements for original bronze fittings.

Column 🇪🇬
It is a symbol from ancient Egypt in the form of a column, as it was stated in the Book of the Dead, Chapter 155, that the sign of Ged represents the spine of Osiris. This is because the spine of Osiris was the last of his members that were cut off by his brother Set, who scattered them in the regions of Egypt, and then Isis found him while assembling the body. She married her husband and brought him back to life with the power of her magic, so it means stability and steadfastness and has become a symbol of this meaning, just as the word “ked” in the ancient Egyptian language means “stable” or “steadfast,” which is a word that suggests stability and stability.

The Ched Column was also associated with the god Ptah, the idol of Memphis since the Old Kingdom, where Ptah is depicted holding it in his hands with the sign of the Ankh and the scepter. This symbol symbolizes Ptah, who gives life, stability and prosperity. Among the well-known rituals represented on one of the walls of the Abydos Temple in Sohag is what is known as the ritual of erecting the Ched Column. This is the ritual that is intended to help Osiris or the king himself to be resurrected alive after death.

This symbol may have been used as an architectural element in some of the tombs of Memphis dating back to the era of the New Kingdom, or forms of it were used as decorative elements for protection, as in the funerary group of King Djoser at Saqqara. There are examples of it that were used as amulets.

Have you ever wondered what it was like inside the burial room of Tutankhamun? This diagram by Howard Carter gives us a glimpse into this incredible space.

The room is dominated by four gilded shrines, which enclose a quartzite sarcophagus and two more gilded coffins. Inside the innermost coffin is the mummy of Tutankhamun, adorned with a golden mask.

But the burial room is more than just a place for Tutankhamun to rest. It is also a treasure trove of artifacts, each with its own symbolic and mythological purpose. These artifacts include golden statues, jewelry, weapons, chariots, and even a model boat.

Egyptian Book of the Dead
Egyptian Book of the Dead
The Book of the Dead was a fundamental work of ancient Egyptian culture. It was a very long text: some copies preserved in papyrus scrolls reach forty meters.

It was also an expensive product, for which half of a farmer's annual salary could be paid in silver. But for the Egyptians, the value of this text was inestimable, as its formulas allowed the deceased to reach the afterlife.

Such formulas were written on papyrus scrolls, the linen binding of mummies, the walls of tombs, the sarcophagus, and the burial goods of the deceased.

Without them, the deceased could suffer a second death, which would mean his complete annihilation.

"Gold glitter everywhere"
.
It was the first impression of British archaeologist Howard Carter when he inserted his head into the window of Tutankhamun's dazzling tomb full of treasures.
On November 26, 1922, he raised a candle to look through a small hole in an entrance that had remained closed for three thousand years, while the sponsor and financier of the excavation of the tomb, Lord Carnarvon, looked anxiously from afar, to find Carter screaming and saying his famous sentence, "Today is the Day of Days."

Plaque of Psusennes I

This thin gold plaque belonging to the pharaoh Psusennes I was placed on his mummy over the incision made in the lower abdomen to allow the internal organs to be removed during the initial phases of the embalming process.

The ancient Egyptians attached a powerful magical value to this amulet, which was intended to guarantee the physical integrity to the mummy by protecting the wound, thought to be the most vulnerable part of the body.

The plate was supposed to restore the body to its original state of strength as the wound was considered to be vulnerable and a possible entry point for negative forces.

The plaque is decorated with the udjat eye, as the symbol was associated with the idea of physical wholeness and protection. The four sons of Horus - Imset, Hapi, Duamutuef and Qebehsenuef - are shown at the sides of the eye with the royal cobra on their heads and their names engraved with a burn. They wear pleated skirts and usekh necklaces.

An inscription on the udjat eye says, "To the Osiris King Psusennes meryamun".

The plaque has a small engraved moulding with four holes in the corners to fix it to the bandages of the mummy.

The tomb of a minor King, Tutankhamun, contained over 5,000 objects while being the smallest royal tomb of the Valley of the Kings. What would have been the treasure of the major Egyptian Pharaohs like Ramesses II?
Rare Examples of Egyptian Pharaoh’s Gold Jewelry
Fortunately several Royal jewelry masterpieces survive to give us an idea as to what the lost treasures might have looked like. They were found either by thieves or archaeologists. And sometimes by accident, like when railway workers stumbled upon a jewelry treasure. The archaeologist suspected it already was a looter’s cache buried two millennia previously. Among the treasure was a pair of gold and lapis lazuli bangles bearing the name of Ramesses II. We do not know if he did wear them, but it offers a glimpse to the lost contents of his tomb.

Pendants of Queen Ahhotep, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty

These pendants were found in the queen’s tomb in Dra' Abu el-Naga in western Thebes together with many other pieces of jewellery. The small rosettes with petals of turquoise, lapis lazuli and carnelian probably decorated a tissue, while the drop-shaped pendants and circular pendants with amethysts were parts of collars.

A confusing puzzle..
This is the title of tonight's post
Why have archaeologists not found the mummy of King Khufu yet?
This is new talk to you, but it is known to us as native Egyptians
The pyramids are the grandeur of construction and the unknown energy they contain. The purpose of the Egyptians in building them was not to be tombs, as no mummies were found in them. Rather, they were an astronomical observatory and a source of enormous energy through which the Egyptians were able to rinse the granite stone with precision and very many purposes in each. Science Scientists have called it "space-age precision."
Unlike the Egyptian calendar and its superior accuracy, it was the most correct astronomically.
After all this, this is a small part of our civilization. Do you really believe .
