"Nubia" refers to a region along the Nile River, which is located in present-day northern Sudan and southern Egypt. Historically, Nubia was home to several ancient civilizations, including the Kingdom of Kush. The Nubians had a rich cultural and trading history and interacted with the ancient Egyptians. The region was known for its valuable resources, such as gold, ivory, and exotic goods.

The Kingdom of Kush, centered in Nubia, rose to prominence around 800 BCE and even conquered and ruled Egypt for a period known as the Twenty-Fifth Dynasty. The Nubians had their own distinct language and culture, but they also adopted and adapted elements from ancient Egypt.

The term "Nubia" is still used today to refer to the region, and it has archaeological significance due to the numerous ancient sites and artifacts found there. The area has a deep and diverse history that spans thousands of years, making it an important part of the cultural tapestry of northeastern Africa.

Rosetta Stone played a crucial role in deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs. It was discovered by French soldiers in 1799 during the Napoleonic campaign in Egypt.

The Rosetta Stone is a slab of black basalt inscribed with a decree issued at Memphis in 196 BC. The decree is written in three scripts: Greek, hieroglyphic, and a cursive script known as Demotic. The discovery of the Rosetta Stone was significant because it provided scholars with a key to understanding ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, as the same text was written in three scripts, allowing for comparative analysis.

The stone ultimately enabled the decipherment of Egyptian hieroglyphs by scholars such as Jean-François Champollion in the early 19th century, marking a breakthrough in the understanding of ancient Egyptian language and history.

Thanks to this great discovery, ancient Egyptian language become understood that revealed secrets that kept hidden for thousands of years.
