The winter months are the perfect time to visit Villa Lostris Holiday Apartments, Luxor. Ideal weather for seeing all our wonderful sites and warm sunny days with highs between 20 to 25 degrees. The nights are a lot cooler so jacket or a warm wrap definitely needed.

Still lovely to sit by the pool with a cup of tea and chocolate digestive biscuits waiting for Rebecca, an American guest to arrive. Eid is at the airport collecting her. Charlotte arrived last night from Scotland to join her mam and dad.

Been busy at Villa Lostris before season started early October.

Painted lounge in Sekhmet apartment.

Painted lounge and retiled floor in Isis apartment lounge, removed bath and put in large glass shower unit, painted kitchen cabinets.

Painted kitchen cabinets and replaced granite worktop in Hathor apartment.

New patio furniture on all floors.

Tiles up around pool to fix a leak.

This review has just turned up in my memories from a lovely Australian couple Davina and Joel who stayed with us at Villa Lostris. They were on honeymoon and driving between Cairo and Cape Town. What an adventure they had.

This is the review they left us on Airbnb.

"We actually cancelled a hotel booking after stumbling across Linda and Eid’s apartment on Airbnb a couple of days before our trip. And, there is a reason this place is five stars all around! The apartment is gorgeous. Balconies galore, a fridge stocked with basics and the friendliest host you’ll ever meet in Linda. Apart from the enormous space, which is complete with a pool, Linda and Eid connected us with Alle, a passionate tour guide who showed us the very best Luxor has to offer. My wife and I are ancient Egyptian history buffs, and Alle’s knowledge and guidance was the perfect complement to our journey. The apartment is in a quiet part of town with a delicious bakery on the corner. Do yourself a favour, avoid the hotels and stay here! You will not be sorry, and, if anything, Linda and Eid undercharge for this stunning abode."

Lucky today as only a high of 44 degrees. Hotter again over next few days.
But I can cool down in the pool listening to the bubbling water and then enjoy a cappuccino.
Far too hot to do much else.

8.10pm and 39 degrees.All one can do is sit in the pool with a 0% alcohol Tanquery gin and tonic and some mini cheddars....

Pool is 30 degrees! and the bat's are buzzing me eating the insects.

Sekhmet apartment on our first floor ready for Uk guests arriving tonight.
South Korean family just arrived in Hathor apartment and early in the morning guests from the Philippines in Isis.
Roof studio already occupied.
Good to be busy here at Villa Lostris with lots of nationalities this season.

Guest Bobby Richard Walter out sailing the Nile yesterday with Eid on our felucca, 11am til 5.50pm What a day they had. Beautiful weather, great sailing wind and lovely food.
