In the 12th century, Al-Aziz Uthman, the Sultan of Egypt, tried to demolish the Great Pyramids of Giza.

He started with the smallest pyramid, the Pyramid of Menkaure.

The workmen recruited to demolish the pyramid found it almost as expensive to destroy as to build. They worked for eight months, using hammers and chisels to break down the pyramids brick by brick.

They found it difficult to finish the job due to limited resources.

Al-Aziz Uthman succeeded in damaging Menkaure's Pyramid, leaving a vertical gash on the north face. He had to give up because the task was too big.

The mummy on the boat

In 1898, Victor Loret discovered in the antechamber F of KV35, the tomb of Amenhotep Ii (where the mummies of the Elder and Younger lady, i.e. Queen Tiye and Tutankhamun's mother, along with many other mummies, were also found), an unwrapped male mummy lying on a funerary boat model. Since then, the mummy has been known as 'The mummy on the boat'.

Loret gave a somewhat macabre description of it: "a horrible sight…all black and hideous, its grimacing face turning towards me and looking at me…” (Loret, BIE, [Cairo], 1899

The mummy, of an unknown man, had long dark hair. The sternum had been smashed in antiquity by thieves, the left arm broken and the right arm.

Speculations about the identity of the mummy mainly concern Prince Webensenu, son of Amenhotep II (due to the presence of canopic jars and shabti with his name in the tomb) and Pharaoh Setnakhte (founder of the 20th Dynasty) because there would be evidence of his reburial in KV35, since his sarcophagus was found in that tomb, which housed other mummies.

However, many doubts remain as to why the thieves would have dragged the mummy into antichamber F, placed it on top of the boat, where it was found, instead of plundering it in the chamber where it was originally buried.
This is why John H. Taylor thinks that it might be an intrusive burial from the 22nd Dynasty, with the mummy carefully and purposely placed on the boat before it was damaged by the thieves.

For some reason, while the other mummies in KV35 were taken to the Cairo museum, this mummy remained in the tomb, becoming a kind of attraction for tourists for some months.
Unfortunately, on 24 November 1901, the boat was stolen and the mummy left in pieces on land, as witnessed by Howard Carter in a report of 27 November 1901.

The boat was eventually bought by the Cairo museum from a dealer in stolen antiquities (see photo) but all trace of the mummy has been lost. It is hoped that it is still in a forgotten crate in the Cairo museum's storerooms.

King Zoser the one who has buried in the Stepped pyramid , the first and the oldest pyramid was built on Earth 2700 bc old by his genius architect IMHOTEP , the one who could to skip the old classic traditional method of burying the bodies in the shafts and the rectangular mastabas which he could to develop it and changed the plan from one Mastaba to be unequal six mastabas that why we call it the step pyramid as it’s consisted of unequal 6 steps so after the architect built the burial shafts and the axis and the passage ways he built the superstructure of the tomb of the king but there is another hidden fact didn’t uncover before which the Architect already has built another burial shaft and the substructure of that pyramid 50 m away of the pyramid before building the pyramid which he did that as A test or a Maquette before building the eternal house of the King and that tomb known as the southern tomb located 50 m south of the pyramid .
You can notice the scaffolding wood traces on the sides of the burial shaft that gave us an evidence that the ancient Egyptians used different kinds of wood as cedar to support them to build the pyramid and to go down to the deep shafts .

A remarkably beautiful mummy of an Egyptian, wrapped in a manner that showcases the incredible skill of the ancient embalmers. The linen bandages are crafted so meticulously that it looks like the work of an artist, not just an embalmer. Back then, embalmers had to be true artists to achieve such mastery. The mummy is placed in a rare sleeping position. It dates back to the 6th dynasty, approximately 4450 years ago.
