Ramses IV - Really Maat Ra" ❤️

He is the son of King Ramesses III. He assumed power after the death of his father, but he was not in the same activity because of the increase in the factors of weakness and dissolution that began at the end of his father’s reign. together with his mother.

And what came in the “Harris” paper indicates that Ramses III had prepared his son, Prince Ramses IV, to take over his throne after him. He prayed for him to rule for a long time and to enjoy a happy era, and he also asked the men of his palace and entourage to gather around his son and support him.

His rule lasted about 6 years, and he worked to please Amun and his priests, as he had two witnesses in Abydos indicating his love for the gods, especially the idol Amun. Two paintings were found for him indicating the literary inclinations of Ramesses IV, which distinguished him from others, and his reign was marked by the fact that he did not wage any wars outside country.

Ramesses IV sent two campaigns to the quarries of Wadi Hammamet to bring huge pieces of stones to establish monuments for him, as some inscriptions dating back to the second year of his reign were found for him in Wadi Hammamet, and it was his first campaign in cutting and dragging stones. A papyrus from Elephantine is attributed to him. Accusations were recorded of a number of personalities, including the priest of the temple of Khnum, who was charged with some charges, such as bribery and violations of the sanctity of the temples.

A back room was built in the Temple of Khonsu in Karnak, and Ramses carved some scenes on the columns of the large hall of columns in the Temple of Karnak, all of which are religious scenes in which sacrifices are offered to the gods, especially Amun Ra. The upper part of a sandstone statue 75 cm long was also found in Karnak. It is between the fourth gate and the obelisk of Thutmose I.

And his royal title was engraved above his father's surname on the facade of the large gate under the geographical list with the names of the countries he claims to have conquered at the Habu Temple.

It was known through the Turin Papyrus the design of the tomb of Ramses IV, whose contents may have been stolen only a few years after his burial, because when the priests moved the first group of mummies to the tomb of “Amenhotep II”, they found only the coffin of Ramses IV and hid it.

The length of the mummy of Ramesses the Fourth is about 160 cm. The coffin in which the mummy was colored white is of Ramesses the Fourth. Studies on his mummy indicate that his age at death was fifty years old. Laurie discovered it in 1898 in the tomb of Amenhotep II in the Valley of the Kings. It is now displayed in the Mummies Hall in the Museum of Civilization
