Saqqara continua nos contando mais sobre seus segredos.

A missão arqueológica conjunta nipo-egípcia que trabalha em Saqqara revelou uma série de descobertas importantes.

As descobertas incluem uma tumba escavada na rocha datada da 2ª Dinastia, o sepultamento de um homem e o sepultamento de uma criança com máscaras faciais, e vários sepultamentos do Período Tardio e do Período Ptolomaico.

A missão também encontrou achados arqueológicos como estátuas teracotas da deusa Ísis, máscaras funerárias, ushabtis, cerâmica, óstracos com inscrição hierática e amuletos de faiança em forma de olho de Hórus, da deusa Ísis e do deus Bes.

O Templo de Hórus em Edfu é amplamente considerado o mais impressionante de todos os templos do lado do Nilo ao longo da jornada entre Luxor e Aswan. Esta atração do Egito antigo é uma parada obrigatória de todos os navios de cruzeiro que fazem a viagem no lado sul do país, que também param em outros locais como Esna e Kom Ombo.
Assim como em Esna, o templo em Edfu é uma construção tardia. Alexandria

Fehér sivatag
A Fehér Sivatag Egyiptomban, a Nyugati Sivatagban található: a Baharia oázistól 160, a Farafra oázistól 40 km-re. 2002 óta már egy nemzeti park része, ahol fantaszikus formákba "faragták" a homok- és szélviharok, a kristályos köveket. A Faragfra oázistól nem messze található például a képen is látható formáció. De található itt gombára emlékeztető alak is, amit egyébként az egyiptomiak sivatagi fagylaltnak neveznek. A park területe 3010 km2-t tesz ki. Déli részén a mészkőrétegekben a földtörténeti korok állatai is jól láthatók, közöttük például cápafog.

Nílus-delta
A Nílus-delta (arabul: دلتا النيل, Delta an-Nīl vagy egyszerűen الدلتا, ad-Delta) az Alsó-Egyiptomban kialakult delta, ahol a Nílus folyó szétterjed és a Földközi-tengerbe ömlik. [1] Ez a világ egyik legnagyobb folyó deltája – nyugaton Alexandriától a keleti Port Saidig, 240 km-re (150 mérföldre) terül el a Földközi-tenger partvidékétől, és gazdag mezőgazdasági régió. [2] Északról délre a delta körülbelül 160 km (99 mérföld) hosszú. A Delta kairóból kissé lefelé indul. [3]

The Nile Delta (Arabic: دلتا النيل, Delta an-Nīl or simply الدلتا, ad-Delta) is the delta formed in Lower Egypt where the Nile River spreads out and drains into the Mediterranean Sea.[1] It is one of the world's largest river deltas—from Alexandria in the west to Port Said in the east, it covers 240 km (150 mi) of Mediterranean coastline and is a rich agricultural region.[2] From north to south the delta is approximately 160 km (99 mi) in length. The Delta begins slightly down-river from Cairo.[3]

Rosetta kő
A Rosetta-kő egy granodioritból álló sztélé, amelyet az egyiptomi Memphisben, Kr. E. 196-ban, a Ptolemaiosz-dinasztia idején, V. Ptolemaiosz Epiphanes király nevében kiadott rendelet három változatával írtak. A felső és középső szövegek ókori egyiptomi nyelven, hieroglifikus és demotikus szkripteket használnak, míg az alsó az ógörögben van. A rendeletnek csak kisebb különbségei vannak a három változat között, így a Rosetta-kő kulcsfontosságú az egyiptomi írások megfejtéséhez.

The Rosetta Stone is a stele composed of granodiorite inscribed with three versions of a decree issued in Memphis, Egypt, in 196 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty on behalf of King Ptolemy V Epiphanes. The top and middle texts are in Ancient Egyptian using hieroglyphic and Demotic scripts respectively, while the bottom is in Ancient Greek. The decree has only minor differences between the three versions, making the Rosetta Stone key to deciphering the Egyptian scripts.

The history of Egypt has been long and wealthy, due to the flow of the Nile River with its fertile banks and delta, as well as the accomplishments of Egypt's native inhabitants and outside influence. Much of Egypt's ancient history was a mystery until Egyptian hieroglyphs were deciphered with the discovery and help of the Rosetta Stone. Among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is the Great Pyramid of Giza.
