Led by Assoc. Prof. Ghada Bassiony and TA. Amel Aboul Dahab, our senior students in the tourism department have launched an inspiring campaign as part of their attractions planning & development course. This initiative is more than just a project; it's a movement towards responsible tourism and celebrating Egypt's rich heritage.
The project includes creating awareness posters for responsible travel, showcasing Egypt's diverse attractions through videos & posters, and engaging students with interactive games like spin-the-wheel & flashcards.

The Student Activities Committee orchestrated an impressive talent show in the esteemed presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, the university's Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, alongside Prof. Alaa Khalil, the head of student activities at PUA. The event aimed to spotlight the artistic prowess and creativity of our talented students, featuring a diverse array of artworks, from photography and paintings to singing, instrumental performances, poetry recitation, and voice-overs. Faculty staff joined in, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of competition and inspiring students to showcase their artistic flair. To commend their efforts, participating students were honoured with certificates of appreciation, fostering encouragement, boosting their confidence, and motivating continued artistic growth.

This guidebook aims to compile historical sites and tourist attractions that can be visited through virtual reality technology worldwide. A field visit to the Graeco-Roman Museum was coordinated by the Tourism Department in an effort to link theoretical knowledge with practical experience. This field visit was coordinated in conjunction with the Tourism Transportation and Tourism Attractions Planning and Development curricula.
The visit is designed to enable students to apply the concepts and knowledge they learn in the course practically. In this field visit, they will practically analyze and evaluate tourist attractions and effectively present them to potential visitors. Additionally, they will recognize the importance of suitable transportation methods for facilitating tourist access to attractions.

We extend our gratitude to the Greek-Roman Museum for welcoming our students and providing this important educational opportunity. We are immensely grateful for their efforts in promoting practical learning and strengthening the ties between academia and industry.

The Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management achieved another remarkable milestone by hosting a virtual session on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, entitled "Sustainable Destination Development: How to Measure Success," presented by the renowned Professor Alastair Morrison, a Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Greenwich in London, UK, the CEO of Belle Tourism International Consulting (BTI), the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Tourism Cities (IJTC), and formerly a Professor Emeritus at Purdue University, USA.
Professor Morrison is among the world's top five contributors to academic journals in tourism and hospitality management, with around 300 academic articles, over 50 research monographs, and five leading books on tourism marketing and development.

His valuable insights greatly benefited the staff members interested in sustainable tourism research. Additionally, it enriched students' learning experiences by incorporating diverse teaching styles and methodologies from around the world.

Today, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the college’s Department of Hotel Management organised a scientific trip to the HACE Hotel Expo at the Cairo Exhibition Grounds. During the visit, the students learned about the latest equipment and technologies used in the hospitality industry, which include kitchen and restaurant equipment, furniture, and hotel reservation and management software. The students also benefited from the opportunity to communicate directly with leading companies in the hospitality industry and were able to discuss new trends in this field.

On November 8, 2023, Dr. Iria Caamaño, Assistant Professor at the University of Coruña, Spain, virtually enlightened our students about Europe's renowned pilgrimage routes. She also introduced the rurAllure project, empowering travellers to customise itineraries along historic routes and learn more about the surrounding heritage. Spotlighting paths like the Camino de Santiago, Via Francigena, and St. Olav's Way, the session delved into the spiritual and physical journeys of pilgrims, unravelling unique landscapes and landmarks. Dr. Iria's lecture was a captivating exploration of Europe's rich pilgrimage traditions.
