Today with close friends we visited the The Greco-Roman Museum:

The Museum was originally built in 1892.This building originally contained only eleven rooms. More rooms were added at a later time. There are many pieces from the 3rd century BC, including a fine sculpture of the Egyptian's sacred bull, Apis, in black granite. Additional pieces include mummies, sarcophagus, tapestries, and many other objects and sculptures .The Museum contains some magnificent artifacts collected from different areas around Alexandria The Museum is famous for its collections from the temple of Serapes, the god which invented to unify the Egyptian with the Romans.
This museum is a must to visit place in Alexandria.
You need at least 1 day tour to Alexandria from Cairo to include this wonderful museum with other sites in Alexandria, even better to overnight in Alexandria.

To spice up my holiday season, I’ve been in Egypt with my crew making a TV special. I scouted this shoot a few years ago but things got too tense politically to recommend travel there, so I put the shoot on hold. Things feel more stable now and tourism seems to be kicking back into gear, so we’re filming!

Egypt lends itself more to organized tourism rather than independent travel; it can be pretty intense and challenging. While it may not be for everybody, I love traveling here and am excited to share our adventures as we make a great TV special. If you’ve been to Egypt recently, how was your experience? What were the challenges? The rewards? Did you travel on your own or with a group?

Today, I took myself for a tour there and it blew me away, the word IMPRESSIVE, isn’t good enough to describe the elegance & attention to details of what I have seen/experienced today!

Guests will be captivated as 12 stunning galleries open their doors, unveiling a breathtaking collection of 75,000 artifacts. These exhibits offer a comprehensive journey through Egypt’s storied past, with collections spanning the Greco-Roman and Ancient Egyptian periods. The galleries are thoughtfully curated into three themes: Society, Royalty, and Beliefs - each offering a deeper understanding of Egypt’s heritage.

The Grand Egyptian Museum, is one of the largest museums in the world. It features modern architecture and will showcase thousands of artifacts, including all of Tutankhamun’s treasures (not yet opened). The museum aims to be a global hub for Egyptology and a top destination for history lovers.

No more going to the Egyptian embassy in Canada!

Today I was very fortunate to have a sneak peek at the Grand Egyptian Museum.
It simply amazing and I can’t wait to visit the rest of the GEM when it is fully opened hopefully in 2024!
Visitors will need at least 1 full day there and maybe more for Museums lovers.
It is the largest museum in the world for one single civilization!
