Exploring the incredible art and culture of El Harrania and Badrashin in our “Wrapped In Silk” Customized Tour with the students of AIS High School was an exciting and whimsical journey.
From seeing the magnificent handmade artworks to understanding the vibrant Egyptian artistic culture and the artists story behind, this tour was a magical experience that we hope will spark their creativity and enthusiasm for art in their course “Egyptian culture.” Lots of gratitude to our partners in success @wissa.wassef.artcenter for showcasing this beautiful journey of passion, diligence and craftsmanship.
اتبسطنا جدًا بجولة تتلف في حرير في منطقة الحرانية
والبدرشين، مع طلاب المدرسة الامريكية الدولية القاهرة.
من خلال جولة تتلف في حرير قدرنا نعبر ان الحرف اليدوية هي فن بذاتها وجزء أساسي من التراث المصري.
الشخصية المصرية عامة بتتميز انها بتأثر وبتتأثر بالثقافات الأخرى بس ف نفس الوقت بتفضل محافظة على ثقافتها وده اللي بيخلى الفن المصري ليه طابع مميز، كمان رمسيس ويصا واصف اثبتلنا ان الطبيعة جزء مهم من الإنسان وبتأثر فيه لما وصل حرانية لأول مرة وبدأ من بعده فنانين كتير وهو ده الفن الحُر.
ختام جولتنا كان مختلف واتبسطنا جدًا بحفلة الألوان وبفطار على الطريقة المصرية.
مبسوطين اننا كنا جزء من رحلة اكتشافكم ونتمنى ان جولتكم معانا على ارض الواقع قدرت تساعدكم خلال فصل “الثقافة المصرية”.

The last tour was a groundbreaking showcase of the Armenian community's interdisciplinary work and cultural experiences, including renowned multidirectional artists, institutions, spaces and many stories about the connection between Armenians and Cairo, especially Downtown.
We were lucky and honoured to kick off our new tour and inaugurate the Parev Aleikom Armenian tour with the presence of Mrs. Zara Balayan the spouse of H.E. the Armenian Ambassador to Egypt, and the Armenian diplomat Mrs Sevan Gevorgyan @g.sevan .
A special mention and gratitude to the distinguished Bishop Krikor for welcoming us and sharing amazing stories about the Armenian presence in Egypt.
Thanks to the unique Artist Vahan Telpian @TELPIAN for opening up his studio, sharing his art process and works, and joining the tour. Thanks also to the impressive visual artist Kegham Djeghalian @keghamdjeghalian for sharing the linkage between art, archive and identity.
And the amazing continuous collaborators of success @access @al_ismaelia @thereaderscorner
And a huge shout out to our two chefs for prepping small Armenian delicacies Karim Bagneid @bagneid @azadpartamian
At the end of the day, our lovely group came together to build bridges between the communities.
جولتنا الأخيرة كانت عرض للاعمال الخاصة والتجارب الثقافية لمجتمع الأرمن الي بيضم فنانين متعددي الاتجاهات من أنحاء مختلفة وقصص كتيرة عن علاقة الأرمينين بالقاهرة وخصوصا وسط البلد.
