Florence is full of attractions but compact, so it is easy to get around even with little legs in tow. Suggestions for what to do with kids aside from the must do’s (the duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, and Accademia)

🐖 find the bronze pig at Porcellino Fountain. Rub his snout for good luck!
🌺 Roam the Boboli Gardens, a beautiful space filled with fountains and amazing sculptures.

National Park Week is happening now until April 28th. National Park Service parks, programs, and partners will host events and activities all week. The US has 429 national park sites. How many have you visited? Up next for us next month: Zion and Bryce.

Fun for kids: buy the “Passport to your National Parks” book and get a stamp at every NP you visit. Or buy the passport book and then forget to pack it every time. The choice is yours😂.

Pro tip: Have a 4th grader? Get their National Park pass for free park entry. The pass grants free entry for fourth graders, all children under 16 in the group and up to three accompanying adults (or an entire car for drive-in parks) to most federally managed lands and waters. The pass is valid for the duration of the 4th grade school year through the following summer (September - August).

Hallstatt, Austria stole my heart in my 20s. We arrived into town late and went out searching for dinner. What started as a quiet dinner ended up with me behind the bar and us knowing half the town by morning. Sadly I doubt I will ever return there (too many other places to visit) but any time I see a picture of this beautiful place it takes me right back.

Weekend Vibes: each table is outfitted with a “Press for Champagne” button, which calls your server when activated and stays on until said champagne has arrived. According to their website Bob Bob Ricard is famous for pouring more Champagne than any other restaurant in the United Kingdom.

🍷”Wine windows", or "Buchette del vino" in Italian, are small arched openings in private homes where the owners sold the wine from their own vineyards directly to clients.

They often had a small door with a knocker.
A client could knock on the door of the wine window and request that his bottle be filled. The wine windows were individually made and no two are exactly alike though they are of similar dimension and large enough to accommodate a small wine bottle.

In the 1600s the bubonic plague hit Florence hard, killing 12% of the city's population. These little windows were a safe way for shopkeepers to sell wine and food with minimal contact, and thus they came to be known as buchette di vino - wine windows. At the time wine was believed to have medicinal qualities. For the record, I am sticking with this assumption.😂

I am so happy I took the plunge and joined as a travel advisor! As most of you know I love to travel and almost as much as I love to travel, I love to plan!! (Type A, oldest sibling🙋‍♀️) Planning trips keep me up at night and I can’t wait to do the same for you!

I love spending countless hours finding all the must see spots, the best restaurants, and activities/tours my family would love and then figuring out how to piece them all together to fit them in on our vacation. There are so many places to go that I always assume I won’t be back so I try to do/see as much as possible so I have no regrets!

Is your vacation style more chill? Don’t worry I can plan that too (and my husband would like to come with you instead!)
