Amaken Trips We focus on social impact travel (including sustainable tourism, responsible tourism, and eco-tourism) that can be a life-changing experience since 2013

Amaken is an alternative tourism startup, started as a youth initiative in 2008, got the name Amaken in 2011. Today we are in the phase of expanding our business model into a larger company that aims to promote socially responsible, environmental and cultural local tourism. Our travelers get the opportunity to challenge themselves physically and psychologically, and they get exposed to the interes

ting diverse subcultures of Egypt, and thus, our projects enrich the young Egyptians’ awareness of their identity and their role and responsibility within the larger Egyptian society. Furthermore, Amaken works to boost the wellbeing of the local communities we visit as we design our trips to rely on families and individuals from the locals to provide us with the needed services in order to financially support them. We initiate impactful cultural dialogues between our travelers the members of the local communities, and we aim to sustain the resulting connections between them.

Lets be the change!

Our partner in Kenya Nashulai conservancy in Narok feeding over 6000 person weekly from Massai Tribe

In the midst of the on-going global pandemic that has brought the nations' economy on its knees, one of Narok's youngest and smallest conservancy in Kenya has defied all odds by rolling out a weekly feeding program for not only its members, but also non-members.
The packet includes maize meal, cooking oil, sugar and a bar of soap to maintain basic hygiene.

The camp used to empower the Maasai communities economically, advocate for education and lead a campaign to eradicate such damaging traditional practices as female ge***al mutilation (FGM).
