The massages are given in a semi-outdoor cosy room or in the yoga studio.

We are super excited to be able to share with you the launch of “The Studio” at Almond Hill House. A multipurpose space, available for rent, tucked away amongst ancient olive trees, situated just steps away from the guest house.

We have recently hosted a very successful yoga retreat where The Studio easily transformed into a yoga shala and tranquil massage space.

The Studio can also burst with creativity for a variety of events, workshop or retreat concepts. How about a company team building weekend get away? How does a whole week spent crafting together sound to you? Do you feel the need for a safe space to retreat to in order to reset or share something personal? What about a fun day learning the intricate details of your favourite food preparation or evenings spent watching classic movies?

*WISTERIA* We haven’t shared a bedroom with you for a while, so we’d love to show you around one of our favourites. 💙🤍🩵

A peaceful, cool, calm room with a blue and white theme and wonderful private Wisteria covered terrace. A tranquil place to sit in the dappled shade whilst looking across to majestic mountain views.

A flight of Spanish tiled steps leads from the main terrace to this large super-king bedded room with solid wood wardrobe and vintage chest of drawers.

The beautifully patterned blue and white tiles are also in the shower-room and there are large windows to take in the wide views overlooking the front of the house, garden and pool.

Last night we treated ourselves to a very special .concerts in probably the most ornate church we have ever seen!

✨ Candlelight: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at the Basilica of St. John of God (Basílica de San Juan de Dios) ✨

A beautiful sounding string quartet guided us through Vivaldi’s masterpiece with utmost precision and grace.

It’s apricot season! We’ve watched our tree slowly ripen its fruit in the lovely sunshine, turning the soft skins a lovely blush colour. The fruit is super fresh and tangy to eat straight off the tree. We’ve also made apricot jam, poached apricots, apricot sorbet, apricot ice cream, apricot crumble and apricots in brandy. Along with all the other home made goodies our little store cupboard is getting full!

As a guest you can sample our homemade delights as part of your welcome pack. We do not use any harmful chemicals on our land - near to organic as can be! 💚

This house is a home as well, feeling so welcome by the owners Becky and Kay and their lovely team like pampering us with the most healthy and yummie food on earth.

Our yoga retreat guests are being treated to some vegetarian and vegan taste bud sensations by our lovely chef … using local products, our own olive oil, our homemade delights, homegrown lemons and some inspiring ingredients she is treating us very well, even creating a delicious and nourishing picnic box for our hike day yesterday. She also shared some tips and tricks in a cooking workshop this afternoon, including a raw vegan desert 💚

The first morning yoga session of hosting our first yoga retreat with lovely friend and fantastic yoga teacher carefully moving into the yoga posses, focusing on our alignment.

A small group means there is lots of personal attention from Jane and plenty of secluded spaces to chill and feel the benefits of class afterwards 🙏🏼😌

With early summer temperatures, everything has flourished, looking lush and green so we took the opportunity to capture the season change. 💚

The wisteria covered terrace is a delightful place to chill in the dappled sunlight. Relax on comfy sofas with loads of cushions covered with fabrics sourced from our adventures in India.

The solid wood dinning table can seat up to twelve people. Gather everyone around for chatter and food served on a characterful mix of locally sourced Moorish and authentic blue and white bowls and serving dishes.

Last night we travelled to Salobreña to have a delicious dinner at and to watch Flamenco dancing. It was incredible to be so close and feel the vibrations of her stamping feet and absorb the intensity and passion of the dance. Mesmerised also by the beautiful movements of the guitar player’s fingers and the emotive voice of the singer. A lovely evening out ✨

Our very first harvest from our beautiful orchard 💚 Slowly ripened in the sunshine Mandarines, Oranges and Lemons to make marmalade, sorbets, lemon curd other delicious things. We’ve also used local spring water and do not use any harmful chemicals on our land - near to organic as can be! 💚

As a guest these homegrown and homemade delights will part of your welcome basket.

We took a day off and explored Salobreña Old Town. Very characterful with its narrow streets and hill top position. Worth the steep climb for lovely sea views and a delicious lunch at Restaurante La Bottica 😋

It was carnival today in Orgiva. A really cute parade of families and school class groups walking through town ending up at the main square waiting for the best costume announcement. The mops won it for us for making us laugh 😁

Today (with family visiting and helping out) we all took a well-deserved day off. And despite the (very welcomed) rain showers we headed off on a mini road trip across country to MONTEFRIO with absolutely stunning views all around. 🤩💚

The ruins of a Moorish castle sit near the highest point commanding the open valley. It became one of the chief frontier fortresses of the Moors in the 15th century. Montefrio’s primary church is the only round church in the whole of Spain since its recapture from Muslim control. The church is said to have been converted from an old mosque. There is also a tranquil Convent to wander around.

*OLIVE ACCESSIBILITY BEDROOM* We are happy to share this delightful super king or twin bedroom.

We’ve given the wet-room a lot of attention with new tiles on the back wall and having to replace the beams. These were sourced locally and treated with multiple layers of waterproofing and oils.

There are also original solid beams in the bedroom, windows onto the garden and front of the cortijo, and a door straight onto the garden.
 
There is plenty of storage with a vintage wardrobe and two chest of drawers. The fabrics chosen for the handmade bed covers reflect watercolour paintings of the olives and for the curtains the dappled leaves in the orchard.
 
The wet-room arrangement and wide doors with no thresholds make this room suitable for most wheelchair users. There are two grab rails in the wet-room and a shower chair is available. From this room there is access via slopes to the drive, living areas, terrace, garden and pool.
