The garden of L’Albarda is a model of excellence in the world of Mediterranean .It´s located in Pedreguer, just a 15 minute drive inland from Denia or Javea.

Created in 1990, it demonstrates the great richness of the flora that thrive in this climate. L’Albarda covers an area of 50,000 m2 and boasts more than 700 species of native plants, as well as an extensive collection of roses and palm trees.

In addition to its botanical biodiversity, L’Albarda has a formal garden, orchards and wild gardens. These recreate the ancient Renaissance gardens of Valencia which were widely influenced by Arab culture. As in Renaissance gardens, architectural features have a great importance in L’Albarda; visitors will be transported to ancient times as they wander the walkways, pergolas and areas of outstanding natural beauty.

L’Albarda belongs to FUNDEM, foundation for the conservation of Mediterranean flora and fauna. One of the purposes is to publicize FUNDEM an example of sustainable gardening, based on the use of native plants with low consumption of water and chemicals.

El Campello hosts its traditional medieval market from October 6th to 9th.

Everything smells like a party in El Campello. After the festive music concerts already held, and although the major festivities are from 12 to 15 October, the municipality hosts the previous days numerous events commemorating various anniversaries, as an intense program of 9 d'Octubre, day of the Valencian Community, or the national holiday of Spain, on the 12th of the same month, as reported Monday by the town hall.

Alicante is the capital with the cleanest air and Madrid is the most sustainable in general.

-Vigo and Valencia are the second and third greenest of the 15 cities analyzed in an environmental barometer.
-Barcelona is in a very discreet position, due to the bad taste of water, pollution and the low quality of its green areas.

In light of the data obtained through the IQAir atmospheric measurement system, Alicante has achieved the highest ranking in Spain for air quality among the 15 cities studied.
Specifically, according to this study, Alicante records an annual average concentration of PM2.5 ultrafine particles (μg/m³) of 4.5, which is within the air quality guidelines of 0-5 μg/m³ established by the World Health Organization (WHO). These particles are those emitted into the air by road traffic or industry and are the cause of serious illnesses as they pe*****te the respiratory system.

On the other hand, Murcia occupies the opposite end of the list, being the last in the ranking of 15 capitals in terms of air quality.

Vigo, in global terms, would be the second most sustainable city in the country, but almost tied with Valencia, both with 62 points out of 100 in the overall rating. However, Valencia has worse water quality, somewhat more pollution and worse waste management than Vigo.

Of the 15 cities analyzed, Gijón was the best ranked in terms of public satisfaction with waste management, with a score of 74.16 out of 100 for this particular aspect.
Based on nine key indicators, such as air and water quality, traffic, recycling, the quantity and quality of green parks and gardens, and citizen satisfaction with waste management, the company's technicians established a sustainability ranking of the fifteen Spanish cities.

Barcelona appears in 10th place in the general ranking of the cities analyzed, and this is due to the fact that, according to the data, the quality and taste of its drinking water gets very bad marks, the concentration of ultrafine particles PM2.5 in the air is high, the quality of green spaces is considered low and there is no good opinion among citizens about waste management.

Valencia, one tree for every 4.6 inhabitants

Madrid, with an overall score of 73 out of 100 (compared to 54 for Barcelona) has the greenest landscape of the 15 Spanish cities analyzed, the best water quality and the best waste management, among other things. Practically all the parameters included in the study obtain the best marks in the country as a whole, except for traffic density, which is high.
