A huge 10 story apartment building is currently burning to the ground in Valencia 😪

They’re still not sure what started it, there were people trapped in the building they don’t think they managed to get to, and firefighters still missing 😔 it’s absolutely ripped through the place in no time at all similar to Grenfell

It’s the first time I’ve personally noticed these in Mercadona (maybe I’ve been oblivious in previous years? 🤔)

If you see one, definitely worth grabbing a copy 👌

Very professionally made, tons of recipes including meats or cheeses you perhaps wouldn’t normally buy as you’re unsure what to do with it (like an entire frozen pig 😅).

All the ingredients are from Mercadona and the magazines available in English or Spanish (and it’s been translated well)

I’m impressed 👏🏼

Get ready for one of the biggest Christmas craft fairs in the area. THIS SUNDAY 26TH at Trex Andalucia Sanctuary 🎅🏻 🎄

Browse over 30 local craft stalls from local chefs, to jewellery makers. Enjoy gorgeous hot turkey 🦃 and stuffing rolls, mouth watering pulled pork, games, raffles and more!

This is a huge event that grows every year and helps support the animals that call Trex home, so make sure you get yourself over there between 11am and 4pm.

P.s don’t arrive late if you want a turkey stuffing roll as they sell out fast 😉

As of today (15th) the main road between Los Gallardos and Garrucha will be closed for 2 long weeks in one direction, which is the Garrucha towards Los G direction.

You’ll be able to get from Los G to Garrucha, but for your return journey you’ll have to go to Bulganvillas and head towards Vera to join the motorway.

Alternatively, drive through Garrucha, down to the parque and head up to the pueblo but it will be slower.

Well, the new Mojácar bus 🚌 (or SUB 🤔) station is finally open and in use!!

It's a bit of a shame the buses aren't actually allowed to turn into it when going up the hill 🤣 but hopefully common sense will prevail and they'll change the road markings or ideally add a stop over the other side of the road.

Police & ambulances are currently in attendance.

🚨 Severe wind alert 🚨

Prepare yourselves for some of the highest winds Mojácar (and surrounding areas) has seen for several years tomorrow.

With gusts of up to near 100kmh from 5pm, it’s very much a baton down the hatches kind of day.

If you’re coastal facing and have outdoor furniture, plants, sunbeds, umbrellas, or anything else that can blow away, it’s time to secure them properly.

Even if you aren’t on the coast, expect the worst.

Tomorrow morning will be windy, but it will get MUCH worse as the afternoon and evening goes on 🙏🏼

Expect windy conditions most of Friday night too.

And if you love stormy weather 🙋‍♂️, head to a seafront bar around sunset as the ocean will be roaring 🌊

Road closed between Mojácar Pueblo and Turre (not the bypass) due to another accident 🤦🏻‍♂️ no details but the guardia are turning traffic at each end

Local football this weekend!

Garrucha take on Poli Ejido at home, Sunday at 12:00 mid day. Garrucha got their first win of the season away last weekend after drawing their previous 2 matches, they hope to go on a run of wins now. Poli Ejido are 2 points below them in the League having won, drawn and lost each of their opening 3 games respectively. (€5 entry fee, or €10 euro for a season ticket. Bring your NIE/TIE for a season ticket)

Vera, who have also lost, drawn and won their opening 3 face Carboneras, current league leaders with 3 wins back-to-back, and that kicks off at 12:30 on Sunday in the Vera football stadium.
