A three bedroomed, traditional cortijo with pool, in its own private grounds with fabulous views of the Sierra Lujar and Sierra Nevada mountains. We bought Casa de Almendras in 2013 with the idea that it would be a simple conversion to bring it into the twenty first century. Two years later, despite the word "conversion" being banned evermore from our conversation, we have the internet, hot water
, air conditioning, fridges, washing machine, modern kitchen and barbecue, music and all the comforts of home. Situated on a walking trail, just outside of Orgiva - 'the capital of the Alpujrras', the house enjoys the best of both worlds, rural privacy and a ten minute walk to the town with banks, shops and cafes. The immediate area boasts amazing views and walking trails for all abilities. By car it is well placed to visit both the beauty of secluded beaches on the Costa Tropical and the medieval moorish splendour of Granada. The unspoilt Alpujarran white villages, of Capileira and Pampaniera are a short drive from the house, in the famous Poqueira Valley with excellent restaurants and artisan shops with truly breathtaking views.
