Huidige situatie van de branden op Gran Canaria.
Meer dan 6000 mensen geëvacueerd, 8500 hectare (een oppervlakte van zogoed als 20.000 voetbalvelden) is verwoest, dat is meer dan 6% van het eiland.

Vandaag zullen de intense hitte en rukwinden nog aanhouden, de brandweerlieden staan machteloos en geraken uitgeput, er is om extra versterking gevraagd vanuit het vaste land, 3 extra blusvliegtuigen zijn onderweg naar de archipel. Ondertussen zijn er ook op Lanzarote hevige branden uitgebroken, het weinige groen op het eiland staat in brand, de brand gisteren in Tenerife was gelukkig snel onder controle door het snelle optreden en de samenwerking tussen brifor, de brandweer, politie en de blus helicopters.
