Little Bustard calling
We just finished a wonderful 4 days birding along Doñana and Portugal with Gordon and Marianne from the US. As she says in the video "we were impressed" with 100 species of birds and superb views of Marbled Teals, White-headed Ducks and this marvelous Little Bustard calling just in front of us!
It is not with the best quality but is quite unusual to watch Marbled Teal or Ferruginous Duck, even more together! Everything is possible in Doñana!
Yesterday we had an amazing day at the Strait of Gibraltar. The soft wind from the east allowed the birds to cross to Africa easily and low altitude. Still some nice groups of White Storks remain, Egyptian Vultures, Honeys, Black Kites, Black winged Kite, Eagles, Harriers, Sparrowhawks and Ospreys among others crossed overhead us at the observatory in the morning. After a pleasant lunch in Tarifa we went to la Janda where we had great views of a young Bonelli's Eagle and Red-necked Nightjar. What a day! And today we started early in the morning with 2 Dotterels. What else can we expect? Best days of bird migration in Europe!
