Jeanette has worked in the tourism industry for almost two decades. She is passionate about history & culture and is even a published author for a book about chilean traditions, history, and culture. Jeannette is also a wine connoisseur and deeply enjoys wine tastings and visiting wineries throughout the world. We are lucky to have her apart of the Xenialand family and host to the central region of Chile.

Juan Cristobal is originally from the Casablanca Valley, in the Valparaíso region, Chile. Since he was a child, he was closely related to life in the countryside and nature, learning to identify birds, plants and how to survive in the mountains. Juan is an agricultural engineer by profession, which has helped him a lot to understand how the natural world works. He currently lives in Puerto Natales, a small city near one of the most impressive places on the planet, Torres del Paine National Park! For several years he has explored its wonderful corners, and his greatest passion is to show people all the secrets of the region.

“While visiting in Frutillar, Chile, my husband and I spent 2 nights in Ensenada, at our host Gabriela’s house. It was beautiful! The house is located right in the hills of the countryside with the water just across the street. Our suite was amazing in it’s setting and experience. When we first arrived we were taken to our room nestled in the hills. It was exquisite. The view overlooking the water, mountains, and volcanoes was spectacular and the furnishings were elegant but simple. Gabriela and her husband prepared the hot tub for us (5 hours of heating with wood) and we sat in the hot tub looking at a surreal view sipping a cocktail. Gabriela later prepared a Delicious dinner for us! It was definitely a gourmet meal! The next morning a homemade breakfast was delivered to our room in a picnic basket and it was fantastic-maybe my favorite part of the whole time. We enjoyed homemade muffins, eggs, ham and cheese plate, warm crusty bread, fresh fruit and yogurt with granola, fresh squeezed fruit juice, toast with homemade jams, along with coffee and or tea- all while sitting in front of huge picture window taking in the view! It is hard to explain the beauty of this property. It is very upscale and what we Americans would describe as “swanky”. Gabriela and her husband were delightful and their home is beautiful and welcoming! I would loved to have spent more time getting to know them. I would not hesitate to come back here again…” PATTI M.

Gabriela offers private lodging, kayaks, hot tubs, and a pool. In addition, as a sommelier and a great cook, Gabriela can deliver an excellent culinary experience marinated, of course, with incredible stories.

Coyhaique, is our hosts Francisco's hometown, it is the capital of Aysén. Located in the heart of the Andes, it's very close to Argentina, and the people there share much of their traditions with their neighbors, getting the best of both worlds! 🌎

Among the most interesting attractions that this wild area offers, the sighting of fauna is the real highlight, get ready to see condors, eagles, owls and many more! Among other bigger endanger species such as the puma, the huemul, or the tiny pudú. 🐭🐻🐴🐺🦌🪶

Guillermo provided transportation to and from the airport, comfortable lodging, delicious meals, a biking adventure, a one-night camping trip, a full day hike, and showed us around the beautiful lake town of Frutillar. Other activities we did included golfing, dining at the local restaurants, visiting a cool hot tub spa, and working remotely for a few days at a nearby cowork. Because Chile really has it all. Mama Nature was really generous with this amazing country. It has the best landscapes: desert, mountains, millenary forests, and hidden beaches! Chilean are known for their hospitality to the foreigners that arrived to their land, they will receive you with warmth and a good asado. El sábado nuestros anfitriones Guille y Toki nos llevaron a pasar el día a la isla de Chiloé!
Impresionante el verde, el paisaje inexplorado y la arquitectura de la isla! Por momentos parecía Irlanda! 🍀
Salimos desde Frutillar hasta el ferry temprano, y llegamos a punto para comer en Puñihuil, allí probamos los manjares locales, las empanadas y el pastel de loco (marisco de la zona) con un buen pisco sour y fuimos a avistar en los islotes las colonias de pingüinos de Magallanes y Humboldt (este último en peligro de extinción) observarlos en libertad, desde tan cerca, viendo como nadan, saltan y cuidan de sus polluelos fue un auténtico espectáculo 🐧
Guille nos llevó a pasear por la zona y nos descubrió mucha de la historia que hay detrás de estos paisajes. Nos llevó a playas desiertas y al último bastión español que resistió la fuerza de la independencia chilena, que conserva los cañones aún intactos, testigos del tiempo. ⏳
Llegamos al Refugio agotados, felices y listos para la cena! Final perfecto para un día top 🤌
