🐈⬛ Plaza de los Gatos:
In April 1998 Arnal Ballester created a mural at the crossroads of Xuclà and Pintor Fortuny streets, in the Raval district of Barcelona.
This square is now popularly known as the “Plaça dels Gats”.
This artistic action was part of the La Ciutat de les Paraules (the city of words) project, promoted by a group of people linked to the MACBA (museum) and supported by BCN City Council and was a set of ephemeral artistic interventions in degraded areas of the neighborhood. However, some of them have survived like the cats in this mural. Saved by the Town Hall at the request of the neighbors who had adopted the cats. The wall along with the cats has been restored twice, the last time in in March 2015.
A popular square with street artists, and not far from the original Cacaolat Bar.

Today, Monday 26th April 2021, a fire was provoked 🚬 in our treasured Collserola National Park 🏞 at 10am in the area of Sant Pere Màrtir.
It was quickly put out by 20 Fire Brigades and a 🚁 helicopter and burned 3 hectares of shrub land.
The smoke could be seen all over the city, but blew away, avoiding pollution in this beautiful area we have for trekking, biking and running 🏃🏼♀️ 🌱 🌲 🚴🏻💚
