EQUIMUR - International Purebred Horse Show
SATURDAY 5th APRIL

The town of Torre Pacheco, hosts the XXVIIII edition of EQUIMUR-International Purebred Horse Show.

This benchmark event on the national and international equestrian calendar will once again bring together breeders, riders, fans and horse lovers in an edition full of spectacle, competitions and activities for all audiences.

EQUIMUR 2025 will offer a complete program of activities that will include high-level equestrian competitions. Sports competitions will be held at both national and regional level in disciplines such as Classical Dressage, Vaquera Dressage and High School , three modalities that will test the elegance, precision and skill of riders and their horses.

One of the highlights of the event will be the Purebred Spanish Horse Conversion Competition (PRE) , endorsed by the National Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders (ANCCE) .

Fabulous new trip exploring the stunning scenery of Murcia via its rivers.... Gentle rafting in the Almadenes Canyon (suitable for all ages) with a visit to 2 caves (world heritage site) and rock art workshop & free time in Calasparra... What a day!!

Setting off from the base in Calasparra, the rafting runs along the Protected Natural Area of El Cañón de Almadenes, and includes a visit to the Cueva de los Monigotes and its Rock Art, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with paintings from 20,000 years ago!! The canyon has walls of 100m high with more than 150 recognised species of flora and fauna to be found and which can only be seen from the river.

This tour lasts around 3-3.5hrs and concludes at the La Mulata Dam.

We will then board the coach and go off for free time in Calasparra so you can enjoy some lunch, before our journey home.

FALLAS FESTIVAL DAY TRIP - FLOWER OFFERING!!
MONDAY 17TH MARCH

Let us take you to the wonderful city of Valencia, during the Fallas Festival to see the spectacular LA OFRENDA: FLORAL OFFERING TO THE VIRGIN.

If there is one event that stands out above all others during this fiesta, it is the floral offering to the Virgen de los Desamparados (Our Lady of the Forsaken); all the falla groups dress in traditional costume. From all parts of the city the groups converge on the Plaza de la Virgen, accompanied by musical groups and carrying bunches of flowers to be placed at the feet of the figure of the Virgin.

Participants carry baskets full of flowers of carnations, gladioli, cyclamens and lilies. These are enchanting afternoons, with lots of pageantry because "falleros" & "falleras" simply love seeing and being seen, and ladies' costumes are of course, just stunning.

The Plaza de la Virgen is transformed into a flower garden during the offering. The façade of the basilica becomes a floral tapestry that covers the entire wall. In the centre of the plaza, a 14m high wooden structure is set up, on which agile climbers insert the flower offerings , creating a gigantic effigy of Our Lady.

We are going to take you to the Cieza blossoms where you will have tapas and wine, which is included in this trip, amongst the Pink and White blossom trees, get your cameras ready this happens once a year for some amazing photographs.

Our official tour guide will tell us about all the production, growing and harvesting of the apricots and cherries that are the trees we will be seeing in beautiful bloom.

Then on to the stunning old town of Cieza for a guided tour with our professional guide, plenty of free time as well for you to explore and enjoy the historic town.
