As a fellow foreigner who has come to inhabit this wonderful city, I am interested in sharing my passion and knowledge of the city with others. I strive to be an open and compassionate person giving people the sense that they are exploring the city with friend. My hope is that with SigaMiga, they will also have a taste of some of the excitement for this city that I have. My Objectives are:

are my passion of the city of Barcelona with others.
- to share from one outsider to another what it is like to live on the inside.
- to give recommendations and advice for planning and organizing their trip.
- to provide suggestions for utilizing local services such as tours, vehicle rentals, and consumption.
- to provide logistical information about how to get around.
- to provide a comfortable and convenient way of seeing the city. SigaMiga will allow visitors who come to Barcelona the chance to relax and stop stressing about their trip as they are now in the hands of a local friend. With trip planning consultation, visitors will have help as they prepare for their journey and create an itinerary that is completely tailored to their interests and needs. When in the city, visitors will have a local friend who can accompany them to the various destinations on their itinerary as well as other places along the way. They will receive recommendations and commentary about local life in Barcelona as well as have assistance with language translations. Rather than worrying about reservations or directions, they simply need to follow along and they will discover why so many people have fallen in love with this vibrant city. As a local business, SigaMiga likes to promote other local businesses that make up the flavor of the city, and so during the trip, visitors will have a chance to visit the best local restaurants/cafes/shops and go on specialized tours based on their interests.

This family had a very exciting start to their holiday because they ended up snagging Taylor Swift tickets in Madrid at the last minute! So we ended up modifying our start time because they were arriving by train the same day as our tour day. However, they ended up being full of energy and great walkers, so even though we met at 3pm we still managed to go through the full itinerary as originally planned.

I love receiving messages like this 🥰 because it affirms the reason why I do what I do and the format of how I do it. It is especially nice when I am able to spend more than one day with people in order to curate a unique experience for them and also to build a deeper and more meaningful connection throughout our time together.

2023 was a year of celebrating Lluís Domènech i Montaner - a great pioneer in the modernist movement. Many people see this style of architecture and assume Gaudí, but in fact, Lluís Domènech i Montaner was his teacher, and many of the iconic buildings in Barcelona are actually done by him. As the year marked 100 years from his death, the city spent the year highlighting his great works and contributions to the city.

Halloween is my Barcelona birthday - the day I unknowingly moved here. This year marks the 13th year I've been living in this city.

Every year is a new opportunity to learn more deeply about the city, discover new things to fall in love with, and find out about traditions that apparently have been here all along - how did I miss that?! This year I found my new favorite pastry shop and realized how fun certain experiences can be.

The biggest celebration of the year and the moment that everything builds up to for me, the Mercè festival. This year would be my 12th year celebrating, with a few interesting changes from previous years.

🔸Drones instead of fireworks.
🔸Ciutadella Parc activities moved completely to the Park de l'Estació del Nord
🔸 Specially made Giants in honor of the guest city, Kiev.
🔸No magic fountain with the fireworks (because of the drought)
🔸 No Santa Eulalia rain (a good way to remember the drought)

It was lovely to be more chill than other years with less shows and less spaces overall. Thanks for another great year, Barcelona!

Remembering a sunny summer day with this family who booked two days together. We ended up rearranging the second day a bit so the kids could spend the hottest hours at the hotel pool and still see the top Gaudí sights.

Something important to keep in mind when traveling with kids is that some hotel pools have a special hour for kids, so you may want to check into that when you book.

The Festa Major de Gràcia is the biggest neighborhood festival in Barcelona which takes place every year from August 15-21.

The Gràcia festival is enjoyed by walking through the streets day and night to enjoy the details in each themed decoration with natural sunlight and with the lighting incorporated into the decorations. Balconies and store fronts also participate in themed decorations.

Throughout every day of the festival, each street has their own program of events which includes workshops, competitions, games, food, drink, and live performances & music concerts.

There is also the cultural aspect with the classic Catalan elements of sardanes, castellers, tabalada, and correfocs.

I love seeing the different competition submissions of posters for the festivals. You get to see what elements of each festival are important enough to be highlighted and the different creative ways they do so.

This one is for the festival of Sant Roc which is the oldest festival that is celebrated in Barcelona. This year will be the 434th edition.

The first image is the winner and the rest are a handful of the other contenders.

☂️🌧️Rain can happen but I don't cancel tours because I know it is the time you are in the city to see these things. Feel free to reach out to discuss any modifications you would like to make for that day because of rain.

If you think it might rain during your trip, the best thing is to have good shoes that can protect against the rain and an umbrella for everyone unless you really love sharing while walking.

It is worth it to go in the towers? Which one? PASSION FAÇADE

People always go up the towers looking for an amazing Empire State Building type of viewpoint experience, and the first thing you have to know is that it's not that. Going up in the towers is to be closer to the work and be able to see it in its fullest, but it isn't about the views because they are quite blocked. Here are a few snaps from the experience inside - you'll see it's nothing fancy, just a way to experience the monument more closely.

The Passion side is the newer set of towers.

There is so much to see at the Sagrada Família. I recommend taking the first moments just to walk through the space and absorb everything before focusing on the details, information, audio guide, museum, etc. especially if your tower visit is within the first 15 minutes of your entry.

One time on a tour, a YouTuber came into the restaurant and did a whole thing while we were in the background, and recently the family I was with found the video! It's amazing to see how incredible they shot the food prep and presentation and to know all that happened right next to us! Now we're ✨famous ✨

Our section starts at 6:30. This is one of my favorite restaurants because they're AMAZING. Can't say I agree about some of the other restaurants on the list 😑

Another year celebrating Sant Jordi in Barcelona! It's a day celebrated like Valentine's day in Catalunya, remembering when Sant Jordi killed the dragon 🐉 to save the princess, so the boys give the girls a rose 🌹and the girls give the boys a book 📖. All around Catalunya you see themes of dragons, roses, books, and Catalan flags.

This year there seem to be even stronger with the commercial themes as more buildings and business decorate their facades and products. 😍🥰🤩

When I take people on tours they always ask me about my personal opinion of the places we go... "But where do YOU go to eat?" I go to the same places because they are geeky my favorite places to eat food! 😂🤓

These two have both been in Barcelona longer than I have so it was a treat to be able to show them new details in the city and see them rediscovering Barcelona in a new light.

4 years ago I showed around a Brazilian couple. This year the woman sent her friend to me!

I spoke a combination of English and Spanish and she translated for her husband into Portuguese when necessary.

So happy to meet the friends of people who I've shown around! If you know someone coming to Barcelona, please send them my way!

Jeni contacted me months in advance of her trip to help show her and her parents around during their cruise stay in Barcelona. Although I was only available for one of the two days, I helped her plan out exactly what to do and book for the other day I wouldn't be with them. On our day together it POURED rain but they were prepared with full protective rain jackets and positive spirits. I don't think anything could have dampened their moods that day!

This past week I was contacted by a couple who did a group tour with me 2 years ago and were back with two of their kids wanting to see more. I got to show them another part of the city and enjoy a wonderful day with them.

It's exactly these kinds of experiences that make me love doing what I do. They were such wonderful people to hang around with and it's always great to have people come back to show them more.

Today, on Halloween, I celebrate my anniversary of moving to Barcelona. This will officially be the city that I've lived the longest in, at 11 years. Even after so much time I'm still discovering new things and excited to repeat old ones. Thank you, Barcelona. You're beautiful. ❤️
