In the Netherlands we call this time of year, the dark days before Xmas.

That does not apply for Andalusia. The weather is lovely. Here they call it the onions days. You start the day with a jumper and during the day you peel off your layers.

The rain has stopped, time to check our land.

We had a huge waterfall on the land and some mudslides. It took us a couple of hours to find the tube again and to empty the hole. Next thing will be asking someone with a excavator to repair the paths.

Many guests asked us how we are doing due to the heavy rainfall. We are fine, we had some leaks, but compared to some people in Álora who lost their cars, and homes or who got a house or pool full of mud.

Last year our area got 217 liters of water, yesterday only we got more than 130 liters of water. Today it is raining again.

Some rainy days, called Dana, are normal for Spain. But this amount of water is not normal.

Some photos for the ones who know the area. The green bridge and river in Cartáma de Estación were flooded, as well as the railway station in Álora to give some examples.

You would never expect that we had tremendous rain and thunderstorms for more than 12 hours if you see this sun set.

The day starts a bit chilly and ends chilly, but during the day you can sit in your t-shirt. Temperature starts with 8 degrees in the morning and climbs up to 17-20 degrees.

P.s. this was an amazing hike near Casarabonela.
