Our recent birdwatching trip from 6 - 21 Nov, 2023 throughout Ethiopia was truly incredible. We had the opportunity to explore diverse habitats, from the highlands to the lowlands, and Desert region, encountered a wide variety of bird species. our frist trip was being around the Addis continue to debar lebanos, and jemma valley, daber biran, bishofut, Langano, Awasa, Wando Gant, Awash, alidage, Bale Mountains where we spotted the rare and beautiful Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala, Bale monkey, reedback as well as numerous endemic bird species such as the Blue-winged Goose , Spot-breasted Lapwing, Ethiopian Siskin, Abyssinian Oriole , Abyssinian Owl, Abyssinian Ground Thrush and Abyssinian Catbird and Moorland Francolin. Watled carne, Abyssinia real, cat bird, White backed black tit etc.
We was spent most of our time in the Rift Valley, where we saw flocks of flamingos, Northern Carmine Bee Eater and Blue breasted Bee Eater, Red throated Wrynek. Ethiopia Boubou and other waterfowl at Lake Abijatta and Lake Shalla.
Throughout our journey, we were accompanied by knowledgeable local expart who helped us target locations, spot and identify numerous species.
Overall, our birdwatching trip in Ethiopia with Bale Trek Ethiopia Tours and Ethiopia was a truly unforgettable experience, and we can't wait to return to this birdwatching paradise next month of December and in the future.
