ኤረር ተራራ በሥነ-ምድር ተመራማሪዎች ዘንድ የምድር እምብርት ይሰኛል፡፡ ከዛሬ ከ1700 ዓመታት በፊት ደግሞ ኢትዮጵያን ይመሩ የነበሩ ደጋግ ነገሥታት ቤተ መንግስታቸውን በዚህ አስገራሚ ተራራ ላይ አድርገው ነበር፡፡

ኤረር ተራራ ባሉት አራቱም አቅጣጫዎች እኩል ርዝመት ያለው ተራራ መሆኑ ለብዙ የሥነ-ምድር ተመራማሪዎች ግርምት የሚያጭር ተራራ ሆኖ ይጠቀሳል፡፡

ኤረር የብዙ ሀገር በቀል እጽዋት መገኛ ስፍራ ነው፡፡ አያሌ የዱር እንስሳትም በረዣዥም ዛፎችና በጥቅጥቅ ደኖቹ ውስጥ ጎጆ ሰርተው፣ ትዳር መስርተው ይኖሩበታል፣ ይቦርቁበታል፡፡

ኤረር ተራራ በውስጡ ብርቅዬ አእዋፋትን የያዘ ሲሆን በአጠቃላይ ለአካባቢው ሥነ-ምህዳር መጎልበት አስተዋጽኦ እንዲያደርጉ ከማስቻሉም በላይ ለሰው ልጅ ጀሮ የጥዑም ድምጽ ምንጮች ናቸው፡፡
