Message from Bale Mountains Tours

On January 16, 2025, a Serval cat was tragically killed by a car in the Gaysay grassland, Bale Mountains. We kindly urge all drivers to reduce their speed in the national park to help protect our wildlife.

Explanation:

Wildlife has an inherent right to cross roads, as they are part of their natural habitat. Many animals, including those in national parks, need to move between different areas to find food, mates, and shelter. When roads intersect with these habitats, it creates a risk for animals attempting to cross. By reducing speed and being vigilant while driving, we can help prevent accidents and ensure the safety of these creatures. Protecting wildlife is essential not only for biodiversity but also for maintaining the ecological balance within their environments.

We had an unforgettable four-day birding and wildlife photography adventure in the breathtaking Bale Mountains. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, we encountered a rich diversity of bird species and unique wildlife, including the rare Ethiopian wolf and Bale Monkey. Each day brought new photographic opportunities of birds and wildlife from lush Harenna forest to high-altitude Sanetti Plateau and lakes, Northern Grassland of Gaysay Valley making this trip a true paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike!
