Welcome to the Omo Valley, Ethiopia! Have you ever heard of this place? This was one of my most incredible trips to date and I can't wait to share everything from here!

This is the chief of one of the villages in the Hamer Tribe in Southern Ethiopia. One of the families invited me to eat dinner and stay overnight with them. So as a gift I gave a few members of the tribe these Liverpool shirts!

I learned a lot from the chief who explained to me the pillow he was carrying around. It's both a pillow and a seat which I found to be fascinating (you can see it on his left hand).

The only ethical way to visit these villages in the Omo Valley and interact with the tribes is to have a local guide from each tribe. The guide can translate and help any visitors understand what is ok and not ok to do in this part of Ethiopia.

If visiting, it's important to remember it's an invitation to visit their village but to also respect everyone where they live and to put money directly to the local community. So if you usually travel independently then just know that it's not a good idea to do that here.

The family that hosted was incredible and I can't wait to edit these YouTube videos from the Omo Valley. I've been sharing a few things on my stories this week (I took a break but I'll organize my content and share more tomorrow).

The Omo Valley is one of the most remote and fascinating places in the world. There's hardly any electricity, so-Fi, mobile data, or running water in this part of Ethiopia. It was difficult for me to remain connected which is why I fell behind on sharing everything but more to come!
