GLADE /GRASSLAND/

WHAT IS GRASSLAND OR GLADE AND USES IN THE FOREST?

The most general sense,a glade or cleaning is an open area within a forest.Glades are often grassy meadows under the canopy of deciduous trees, such as Red alder(is a deciduous broadleaf tree/quaking Aspen/. They also represent openings in forest where local conditions, such as avalanche/is a rapid flow of snow down a slope such as hill or mountain, poor soil or fire damage have created semipermanent clearings. They are very important to herbivorous animals such as antelope species and for another animals species for forage and denning activities.
Glades are characterized by unique plant and animals communities that are adapted to harsh and dry conditions.

Meadow is an open habitat or open or field, vegetated by grasses, herbs and other non-woody plants.
✓Can occur naturally under favorable conditions habitats as a group are characterized are semi-natural grasslands -meaning that they are largely composed of species to native to the region.
✓Meadows are attract a multitude of wildlife and support flora and fauna that could not thrive in other habitats.
✓Ecologically, important as they provide areas for animal Courtship (for operational s*x ratio), nesting, food gathering, pollinating insects and sometimes sheltering if the vegetation is high enough.
✓Meadows will experience increased -pressure including their biodiversity due to climate change, especially as precipitation and weather conditions change.
✓Grassland and Meadows also have an important climate changing mitigation potential as carbon sinks: deep-rooted grasses store a substantial amount of carbon in soil.
