King's Road Renascence: new dimension and digital tools -hankkeessa modernisoitiin matkailuelinkeinon kannalta tärkeän Kuninkaantien ekosysteemi ja tarjottiin uusia digitaalisia ratkaisuja sen kehittämiseen. Kaakkois-Suomen ammattikorkeakoulu yhdessä kumppaneiden kanssa on toteuttanut visitkingsroad.fi -digitaalisen alustan, johon kootaan reitin varrella sijaitsevat nähtävyydet sekä niiden ympärillä olevat palveluverkostot. Uusi digitaalinen alusta esittelee matkailijoille Kuninkaantietä ja sen kohteita. Alusta palvelee Kuninkaantien varrella toimivia matkailuyrityksiä, joille se on näkyvyyspaikka ja tärkeä markkinointikanava.

24.2.2023 Xamk, Kuninkaantie ry ja Pernajan Agricola-seura ry järjestivät iltatilaisuuden Kuninkaantie-reitin toimijoille tunnelmallisessa Perinnekeskus Kuggomissa Loviisassa. Paikan päällä ja etänä tilaisuuteen osallistui 35 henkilöä.

Illan aikana sukellettiin historiaan arkeologi Andreas Koiviston sekä Pernajan Agricola-seuran edustajien kanssa ja katsottiin digitaaliseen tulevaisuuteen Kuninkaantie-hankkeen tiimoilta. Projektipäällikkö Katja Gorelkina esitteli hankkeen tuloksia ja kertoi, mitä digitaalisija työkaluja on tuotettu Kuninkaantie-reitin kehittämiseksi nyt ja tulevaisuudessa.

VIRTUAALIOPASTUSKOULUTUS 13.6 ja 16.6

Haluatko tarjota unohtumattomia elämyksiä sekä kotimaisille että kansainvälisille matkailijoille Virtuaaliopastuksen avulla?

Järjestämme koulutuksen virtuaaliopastusten toteuttamiseksi matkailijoille. Nykyisen maailmantilanteen myötä matkailijoiden kynnys lähteä kokeilemaan erilaisia elämyksiä on entistä korkeampi. Virtuaaliopastuksella asiakkaalle voidaan tarjota mahdollisuus kokea elämyksiä omalta kotisohvaltaan tietokoneen tai mobiililaitteen välityksellä. Opastus on vuorovaikutteinen oppaan kuljettaessa matkailijaa kohteessa antaen osallistujalle samalla mahdollisuuden esittää kysymyksiä retken aikana.

Koulutus tarjoaa Kuninkaantie-reitin varrella toimiville matkailu- ja palveluyrityksille virtuaaliopastusten avulla uusia keinoja toteuttaa opastuksia ja myös aloittaa uusien palvelutuotteiden tuottamisen.

Tulevaisuustyöpaja matkailuyrityksille 27.5.2022

Viimeisen kahden vuoden aikana matkailu elinkeinona on muuttunut radikaalisti. Muuttuvassa maailmassa tulevaisuuden rakentaminen vaatii oman toiminnan kehittämistä suuntaan, joka on mahdollisimman vähän riippuvainen ympäristön äkillisistä muutoksista.

Tule mukaan tulevaisuustyöpajaan ja löydä ratkaisuja yrityksesi tulevaisuuden turvaamiseen. Koulutus järjestetään verkossa ja se on ilmainen.

Työpaja on ensisijaisesti tarkoitettu Kuninkaantie-reitin varrella toimiville matkailuyrityksille. Paikkoja rajoitetusti.

Cities of the King’s Road region (Hanko)

One of the most beautiful sights of Hanko city is the Evangelical Lutheran Church, which was built in Neo-Gothic design by architect Johan Arenberg. The church was repaired after the Second World War and restored in 1972-73 acquiring its current appearance. The organ was built by Paul Ott in 1965 and has 29 stops. The Church is located on the highest point of the city of Hanko, on a rock rising above the sea.

Hanko is the most southern city in Finland, it is located in the southern part of the Hanko peninsula and is surrounded from three sides by the sea. There are over 30 km of coastline and sandy beaches in the city, which gives Hanko the right to be called the "Finnish Riviera". Hanko has a strong connection to Russian history and better known as "Gangut". It was near Gangut that one of the largest naval battles of the Northern War (1700-1721) took place, in which the Swedish fleet was defeated by Russian troops under the command of Peter the Great. The rich cultural and historical heritage of Hanko city is complemented by an elegant combination of beaches, cliffs and the beautiful architecture of country villas standing on the seashore.

On 12 – 13 February 2022, at the innovation cluster of the Kirov Palace of Culture the «Big City Lights» festival was successfully held.

The event was organized by the Committee for Tourism Development of Saint-Petersburg in cooperation with Non-Commercial Partnership “European-Russian InnoPartnership” and TeamCIS of Build The Earth project in the frames of international project “King's Road Renascence, new dimension and digital tools” (KS11135 King's Road Renascence), “South-East Finland – Russia” 2014 – 2020 cross-border cooperation Programme.

The festival was organised with the information support of the Committee on IT and Communications, The Committee for Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations, the Committee for Science and Higher Education, the Committee for Culture and Tourism of the Leningrad Region.

Julia Kuzenskaya, Deputy Chairman of Committee for Tourism Development of Saint-Petersburg, Dmitry Kuzmin, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on IT and Communications, and Ivan Yesipov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations opened the event.

During the two days of the festival, the participants had the opportunity to recreate in virtual mode touristic objects of St. Petersburg (the Kirov Palace of Culture, the Winter Palace, Nevsky Prospekt, St. Isaac's Cathedral, etc.) and the Leningrad Region (Vyborg Castle, the Saint Mary Magdalene Kirche (Primorsk)) using the world famous “Minecraft” universe.

Artem Petrov, TeamCIS leader, presented the report devoted to the history of Build the Earth project and held a workshop on working with 3D construction tools.

Maria Kuzko, Executive Director of Non-Commercial Partnership “European-Russian InnoPartnership”, talked about the main goals, objectives and expected results of the project KS11135 King's Road Renascence. Maria also noted, that there will be organized more thematic events, that may be also interesting for participants of Big City Lights festival.

The event was attended by more than 80 people (online + offline), 1,500 people watched the live broadcast in social media.

At the end of the festival, all participants were awarded with letters of appreciation from the Committee for Tourism Development of Saint-Petersburg and the Committee on IT and Communications.

A guided tour of the Kirov Palace of Culture was also organised for the guests of the event.

Cities of the King’s Road region (Vantaa)

On the territory of Vantaa city there is the Finnish Science Centre Heureka. It was built in 1984, but fully opened to the public in 1989. Since then, the center has been a unique place presenting the development of science and technology in an engaging and interactive way. Its main exposition has over 200 exhibits and includes both permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as the Vattenfall planetarium with a huge spherical 3D digital screen on which popular science films are shown.

An interesting city attraction and exciting visiting destination for the whole family is the Finnish Aviation Museum, Suomen Ilmalumuseo, which is located in the Aviapolis area in Vantaa. The museum was founded on 4 December 1969 and opened in 1972. It’s exposition occupies two hangars and includes 80 both military and civilian aircraft, countless other different items related to the world of aviation.

In the center of the city of Vantaa there is a great historical monument, which is famous for the architecture of the Middle Ages – the stone church of St. Lawrence. According to an old legend, it was built back in 1494. Having suffered a major fire in 1893, thanks to restoration work designed by the famous architect Theodor Heyer a year later, some ancient artifacts are still preserved in the Church. Now the Church of St. Lawrence is the main city parish of Tikkurila district.

Vantaa is the fourth largest city in Finland. The satellite city of the Finnish capital Helsinki is located in the southern part of the country on the Vantaanjoki River, which gave its name to the city. The first mention of Vantaa dates back to 1351, as the area Helsinge, when the Swedish king Magnus II granted salmon fishing rights on the river Vantaa to the Estonian Padise Abbey. In 1972 Vantaa received official city status and was subsequently renamed Vantaa. Now the city is a major transport hub of the country, where Finland's largest airport, Helsinki-Vantaa, is located. Close location to the capital contributes to the constant technological and cultural development of the city.

Cities of the King’s Road region (Porvoo)

Porvoo Cathedral is one of the oldest churches in Finland, the time of construction dates back to the period in the XII-XV centuries. Originally, the building was wooden, but over time, the Cathedral was rebuilt in stone. Until the beginning of the XVIII century, it has been destroyed by fire numerous times. In 1809, Porvoo Cathedral played an important role in the nation’s history as the opening site of Finland’s first Diet in which Russian Emperor Alexander I affirmed the country as an autonomous Grand Duchy.

City Town Hall is an architectural monument of the XVIII century, one of the oldest and main buildings in Porvoo. It was built in 1764 and a little later, in 1771, acquired its present appearance when a clock tower was built over the roof. Nowadays City Town Hall is a place for an art gallery and a historical city museum. In front of the building is the city market square, where cafes, food tents, and stalls with various souvenirs are located in the summer.

The symbol of Porvoo is the red old port shore houses along the Porvoo River. They are depicted in any guidebook or on any city postcard. At the end of the XVIII century these houses were painted in bright red color in honor of a visit of Swedish king Gustav III, in order to give the houses a beautiful appearance. Red ochre also protected the buildings from exposure to sunlight and wind. Now some houses are restaurants, warehouses, and some even have living quarters.

Porvoo is the second oldest city in Finland, founded nearly 800 years ago by Swedish settlers and was originally called Borgo ("Fortress by the river"). The history of three countries is combined in the city: Finland, Sweden and Russia. The name of the city came from the Porvoo River, which flows through the city, passing Porvoo’s most well-known landmarks: its red shore houses. The historical center of Porvoo is full of old wooden houses and narrow cobbled streets, therefore the old town of Porvoo is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
