Follow is if you want to go deeper than the weather report🤿
In the Faroe Islands, weather is not just a small talk kind of topic, but a meaningful one as it can vary wildly between towns and islands and changes instantly.
As a tourist, it’s, therefore, important to be prepared regarding clothing, but also to have a plan B if weather doesn’t allow #hiking. The Tell Me North App is a great #plan for any weather and is available in the App Store and Google Play Store📲.

With 18 islands and 50,000 inhabitants, we have three sub sea tunnels and more to come.
For many of us, the ferries that came before the tunnels give a feeling of nostalgia.
The wonderful music is by my friend and Faroese composer @elitausenalava
In the Faroe Islands, during the dark winter months it’s prevalent to share a warm cup of tea with friends or family in each other’s homes. In Faroese, we call it “Drekkamuður,” which combines the words for ‘drinking’ and ‘mouth’, capturing a cozy tradition that makes the dark winter less insufferable.
The most traditional type of tea is the brand Typhoo tea, which is said to have come to the Faroes with British soldiers during World War II. But we don’t pronounce it ‘tyfoo,’ as the British would, but ‘typoo’ tea.

Today it is free to visit Klaksvík.
Four times a year, the sub-sea tunnel, which are largely financed by toll, are free for all.
Such days, people come to Klaksvík to svim, shop and eat.
Maybe you’ll also get a welcome like this. And of course our stories are available in our app, as always.
